Adding a Background.

A Background can be either a single colour or an image created from a file.

The same basic procedure is used for either type of background.

Click on Format from the menu items at the top of the screen and then click on Background. This will bring up the Page Properties dialog box. (The background tab is active).

If a single colour is required as the background then click on the pull down list next to the word Background and select the colour required. Then click on OK. The selected colour will appear as the page background.

If an image from a file is to be used as a background then this file must be on the diskette currently being used or available on the computers own hard disk (or on a network drive where appropriate). Bring up the Page Properties dialog box as before (with the background tab active) and click on the box next to the words Background Image (putting a tick in this box). Use the Browse facility to find the file required, highlight the name of the file and click OK. Then click OK on the Page Properties dialog box.

The image will then be applied as a background.

Note:

It is recommended that the background is only added towards the end of the page design, to make the page construction easier as the background may make alignment etc. difficult.
