Adding Images.

Images can be pictures, graphics, or animation’s and can originate from many different sources such as:

These images can be included onto your web page to give the page a greater impact and better appearance.

There are a number of formats of graphics files that can be included on a web page, however the two most common (and recommended for your pages) are .JPG and .GIF

For most images the .JPG format should be used, however for animation’s the .GIF format has to be used.

Whatever the source of the image, in order to include it onto your web page, the image file must either be on the diskette that you are currently using, or available on the computers own hard disk (or on a network drive where appropriate).

To insert the image on the web page, place the cursor where you want the image to be and then click on the Insert item on the top menu bar (or on the Insert image icon) and choose Insert Image.

The Image dialog box will appear and the image file should be located and highlighted, and then click on OK. If the file is not on your diskette then click on the explorer icon (Select a file on your computer), to find the correct location.

The image will appear on the web page.

The same procedure can be used for inserting Clip Art pictures.
