firebox and consists of two brick pads. The firebox is marked by several large stones and a patch
of scorched clay set within the confines of the stone.

The area of the firebox and hearth of Feature 90 is close to three times the size of that of
the other hearth features excavated. In addition, the amount of stone rubble recovered from
Feature 90 is twice that of the other features and either represents the remains of a more
substantial firebox or a stone flue atop a stick and mud chimney. The amount of nails present in
the area of Feature 90 is also significantly higher that that found in other features. Based on
these three factors (hearth size, weight of stone, and nails) the amount of resources put into the
hut associated with feature 90 was substantially more than the others excavated.
