About that hat...

I actually have six hats. Four are striped engineer's caps, one is a blue and white baseball cap with the SC RR Museum logo on it, and one is a traditional flat-top conductor's hat. Lately I've been thinking about adding a fedora to the collection, but I haven't quite reached that point.
  • SCRM Curator hat -- striped engineer's cap, clean, straight bill, has my name badge pinned to the front with "Curator, SC RR Museum" under my name.
  • Everyday hat -- striped engineer's cab, clean (usually), creased bill so I can stick it in my back pocket during meals at restaurants.
  • Train show hat -- striped engineer's cap, dirty, creased bill so I can stick it in my back pocket during meals at restaurants.
  • Work hat -- striped engineer's cap, utterly filthy, creased bill so I can stick it in my back pocket during meals at restaurants.
  • Conductor's hat -- Traditional "ventilated" flat top conductor's hat, has name badge affixed to the front that simply says "SC RR Museum" under the name.
  • Model railroad hat -- Rarely worn anymore, this blue and white baseball cap has the SC RR Museum logo on it. My name badge from the Associated Model Railroads of Columbia, to which I no longer belong, is pinned to this hat.
