Ghtroc Freighter


I believe this was the ship from the original Thrawn trilogy that Luke had hollowed out and had his x-wing put inside so that the ship was just a shroud for the x-wing. When he needed to make a quick escape, he just blew off the ghtroc and sped away in his x-wing.

It's my guess that whoever originally came up with this design, got his inspiration from a turtle.... lol



Like the dreadnaught and the Wilde Karrde, this ship is not built to any particular scale. I just printed it out at a size I thought would be good and built it the size of the print out.

This model is about 85% scracth-built and some kitbash. The orange part on the botton is from some sort of mech model kit, and the grey part is from a virago kit I bought off ebay just for kitbashing. The rest of the ship is all styrene and bondo.

You can see where I have painted on some black, this was just so I could see how well my filling and sanding job was on some of the parts.
