This was me second scratch-build. It still has mostly strait lines with just a few curves to it, so it seemed like the next logical step to takeafter the Wild Karrde . It is just over 20 inches long.
This was also my first atempt at resin casting. The "bubbles" on the sides were duplicated from single masters I built, to make the same sized ones identical.
Here you can see a little bit of what the final paint job will look like (when I get around to it). I just learned a process called pre-shading. I first painted the whole model a dark color (the color you want you panel-lines to be). Then with a lighter color I started painting the panels with a fine spray, starting in the middle of the panel and woking towards the edges. Then step up to a lighter color and do the same again. The more times you "step-up" the deeper your panel lines will look. As well the more contrast you have (darker panel lines and lighter panels) will also increase the felling of depth. |
