Tamaulipas
In the end northeast of the Republic and delimited by Nuevo Leon, San Luis Potosí, Veracruz, the Gulf of Mexico and Texas, EUA, is located the state of Tamaulipas, whose name derives from huasteco Tamaholipa, "place where much is said", that alludes to the missions.
Nevertheless, neither the conquest nor the consequent evangelización were made feel in these regions. Being land of transit between the tropical footpath and the tempered steppe, it offers contrastantes landscapes: high mountainous areas, fertile plains and coasts with kilometers of beaches, some practically virgin and other little known.
Tamaulipas also offers reserves of the biosphere, footpaths with springs, grottos, natural wells and even desert. One of the main activities of the town tamaulipeco is the cattle ranch while the craftsmen make excellent works in skin. Their celebrations and dances are famous and its gastronomy tastes very particular. |
