My Religious Stand

"everyone who belongs to Jesus belongs to everyone who belongs to Jesus."

My Testimony

Up until my sophmore year in high school, I grew up in a Christian home. It was not until that summer of 1990 did I give my heart to Jesus and was baptized.

During my senior year (1992-93) I felt a tug from God calling me to be a preacher. I announced this in church which caused some confusion in my family. See, I was planning to become a school teacher (possibly sixth grade) and I had not shared the tugging that I received from God until that day in church. Going into college would be a difficult journey, at first.

I planned to attend Mount Vernon Nazarene College because it had both a great religion program and a great education program. My mom encouraged me to keep an open mind just incase I would want to change to an education major; At the time it sounded like a good idea.

After achieving my first year at college I became very depressed (my grades even reflected it) as I went into my sophmore year. Because I was not sure of my calling I felt these classes were only a stumbling block in my life. After encouragement from one of my professors (Dr. David Cubie) and my sanctification on Oct. 4, 1994 I was assure of my calling from God. I knew he had called me to preach.

On May 21, 1996 I received my Local License in the United Brethren Denomination in Westerville, Ohio. On July 26, 1998 I received my Annual License for the Central Conference.

In 1999. I was actively involved in helping a local church in Mt. Vernon. It is called Grace Community Church. I supported the Worship singing, printed bulletins, and preached on occasions. It is small family, but a very loving family.

Now (since 2001), I am involved in a recent church plant in Lewis Center, Ohio. Our church name is NorthPointe Community Church. I have served as a small group leader, children's instructor, financial secretary, and preached on occasion. I am currently part of the Vision Team, which is the core of the ministry planning team.
