The Story of WCW and Raven's Flock

June 30, 1997 - Raven is seen sitting at ringside during WCW Monday Nitro. The announcers recognize him as a champion from an independent organization. This will soon become commonplace, as WCW never acknowledges ECW as a legitimate organization.
July 7, 1997 - This is the first time Stevie Richards is seen in WCW with Raven. He
tries to get Raven to join WCW, but Raven will not sign. Instead, he slaps Stevie and knocks him down.
WCW Bash At The Bash - July 13, 1997 - Diamond Dallas Page, WCW's golden boy, claimed to have a mystery partner set to face Scott Hall and "Macho Man" Randy Savage. "Mean" Gene Okerlund spies Raven at ringside, and decides to ask him if he
is DDP's partner. Raven gives him a cryptic answer and goes back to sulking.
Monday, July 14, 1997 - Raven is once again confronted by Stevie Richards, with "Mean Gene" Okerlund, and WCW's chairman, J.J. Dillon. J.J. reveals that Stevie negotiated his own contract for Raven, which includes a rental car, an eight-track
player for all those long road trips, and he would make almost as much money as
Stevie. Raven responded with a speech followed by a slap. Stevie's comment: "Hey,
I mean well. . ."
July 21, 1997 - August 21, 1997 - Stevie makes another attempt to get Raven to sign
a deal with WCW, but Raven refuses. He tries to slap Stevie again, but Stevie blocks
his slap. He tells Raven that, "You're not going to abuse me anymore." Raven smirks
and leaves Stevie alone. For the next couple of weeks, Raven costs Stevie all of his matches. Stevie fights DDP and after DDP wins, Raven kicks Stevie all the way out
to the ring apron. Raven also DDT's Stevie Richards during one match so quickly that Stevie doesnt know Raven did it.
August 21, 1997 - Raven's in-ring debut for WCW at The Clash of The Champions.
He takes the mic and insists that since he doesn't wrestle for WCW, he wants the
match to be no-disqualification. Raven does all his signature moves in a match where Richards puts up zero resistance and finishes him up with a DDT.
November 1, 1997 - Raven makes an appearance on WCW Saturday Night with Stevie Richards, and former ECW Eliminator Perry Saturn. Saturn faces young WCW rookie Billy Kidman in a dark match and when Saturn wins, they recruit Kidman into Raven's cult of misfits, which will now be called "Raven's Flock." They currently included Richards, Raven, Saturn, Kidman, and Sick Boy
November 3, 1997 Raven faces Scotty Riggs, a former WCW tag team champion. Raven and his crew come into the ring, insisting the match be held under no-disqualification, or as it comes to be known in WCW, "Raven's Rules." Raven and his mouthpiece Richards insist that Riggs join Raven's Flock, but he refuses. Raven then fights Riggs and seriously damages his eye. This starts an odd feud that culminates at WCW's World War 3. This is also the match where Mike Tenay dubs Raven's finisher, "The Evenflow DDT.".
November 11, 1997 - Raven debuts the newest members of his Flock, Van Hammer and Sick Boy. He also speaks on how his violent nature came to be, through his abusive childhood.
November 23, 1997 - Raven is informed by J.J. Dillon that if he doesn't sign a contract with WCW, he will no longer be allowed in WCW events.
Raven defeats Scotty Riggs at World War 3, and gives him a series of devastating Evenflows afterward. This would cause Riggs to eventually join the Flock.
November 24, 1997 - Raven signs a contract with WCW, which allows him complete control over his matches.

Riggs also joins the Flock this day, as well as Lodi. Saturn also defeats Disco Inferno
to become the WCW Television Champion. This is also the start of a long, drawn-out feud with Chris Benoit.
January 1998 - Raven loses to Chris Benoit at nWo Souled Out, after passing out to
the "Crippler Crossface."

February 2, 1998 - March 1998 - This is the date that Raven was asked by Mortis if
he could join the Flock. Raven stated that Mortis could join the Flock if he could defeat Diamond Dallas Page. Mortis could not and thus was rejected by The Flock, by Raven DDT'ing him. The newest Flock member Reese also makes his debut in this time period.

March 1998 - April 20, 1998 - March 18, 1998 -- Raven attacks DDP on MTV Live,
and steals the WCW U.S. Heavyweight Title. This sets up a feud between DDP and Raven that concludes at WCW Spring Stampede, where Raven, with the help of new Flock member Horace Boulder, defeated Page to become the new U.S. champion.
Raven would lose the title one day after he won it to new WCW rookie Goldberg.

May 1998 - September 1998 - Hammer is kicked out of the Flock. This sets up a bad precedent that will eventually end Raven's Flock. Saturn, who was kept as Raven's
right hand instead of Hammer, states he never was part of the Flock. Kanyon, who
used to be known as Mortis, had begun to attack Raven as retribution for not being allowed in the Flock. Raven had Saturn fight Kanyon at the Great American Bash.
When Kanyon won, Raven kicked him out of the Flock. A Raven/Saturn feud began
with Kanyon sticking his nose in as well. Kidman and Horace and Reece became estranged from the Flock. Saturn challenged Raven for control of the Flock at Fall Brawl. Kanyon joins the Flock, and Raven, Lodi, and Kanyon become the new Flock.

September 13, 1998 - September 21, 1998 - On September 12, 1998 at Fall Brawl Saturn fought to free the Flock members from Raven. He was successful.
When the match got started JJ Dillion, decided he was going to handcuff Kanyon to
the ringpost. Fine idea, but he still let Lodi run around ringside, (make sense). Raven
had control of the first five minutes, and of course Lodi was involved. Raven got a chair and did the infamous drop-toe hold which was successful. The Flock now came
down with a table, now we are getting to business. Saturn was down at the moment
and so Kidman went to the top rope. Everyone was expecting the seven year itch,
but instead Kidman turned on Raven and delivered a missile drop kick onto Raven!!
The fans went crazy! It was insane, but we all knew that was going to happen
someday soon enough. While the Flock chased Kidman out of the ring, Saturn took control of the match.Saturn got a hold of Raven and delivered a DVD. Lodi then distracted the ref so Raven had a chance to recover and kick out of the attempted pin in time. Eventually the Flock came back out only to be attacked and put down by Saturn...Saturn accidentally knocked out the ref while the ref was arguing with Kanyon..This was Kanyon's chance. He grabbed the keys from the ref and set himself free from the handcuffs. He entered the ring and gave Saturn a flatliner and pulled Raven on top of him for the pin. Kanyon then went back to the corner and locked himself up
once again. He awoke the referee but the count was to slow and Saturn kicked out. Saturn was about to apply his old move, Rings of Saturn while he had Raven down
but Lodi interfered. He had made the save.

Lodi was just about to leave the ring when Saturn taunted him to get back in. Lodi
went back in and Saturn gave him a DVD from inside the ring to the outside, where
Lodi landed on the table. Damn, that's gotta hurt! As Saturn was getting back into
the ring, Raven was quick to apply a DDT but it wasn't over yet! He kicked out, and
the commentators made a lot to say that Saturn was the first man to ever kick out
of an evenflow on national tv (not sure about that). Saturn was still hot and delivered
a second DVD and got the three count. The Flock was set free. However we have
come to realize that Kanyon had his back still, and Lodi...well he is just being Lodi. The Flock was no more. Kidman turns against him in this match and goes onto become Cruiserweight champion the next day on Nitro.
On September 21., Raven and Kanyon nearly cripple Villano IV during a tag team match on Nitro where they botched an attempt at a neckbreaker/powerbomb combination move. Raven then enters an angle where he is depressed and loses all the time. He loses to Chris Jericho where he admits he hasn't been himself. He then goes off with his mom when Kanyon reveals he's been rich all along and his whole persona is a gimmick. It was time for Saturn to take his career into his own hands. Once Saturn went his own way the crowd began to cheer for him and things pick up for Saturns career. This cause Raven to becomes jealous of Saturns success and a very heated and dragged out rivalry evolved between the two. During his feud with Saturn, Saturn tried to convince the remaining Flock members to take charge of  their own lives and careers and to leave Raven. They could not get the courage to do so.
August 2, 1999 - Raven makes his way out with Vampiro and Insane Clown Posse. Raven controls the ICP from ringside and then helps Vampiro beat Eddy Guerrero. This becomes Raven's new stable, which he calls "The Deadpool"
August 23, 1999 - In a locker room meeting backstage at Monday Nitro, Eric Bischoff, incensed at the WWF's hold on Monday Night Wrestling, decrees that WCW must become "company oriented" and not think of themselves to "kick Vince's ass."
Bischoff then makes the offer to release any WCW wrestlers unhappy in the company. Raven then gets up and leaves the meeting in front of all of the WCW roster. 12 hours later, Raven is officially back in ECW. It is stated that Raven did not want to renew his contract with the WCW as his dream was to again reach the World Wrestling Federation, but at this time this was not possible as Raven had a year long- cannot wrestler for WWF - contract, which meant Raven would rejoin Heyman at ECW for a agreed time of one year until his dream could be made possible.
