Resident Evil 2 Review

Resident Evil 2 is the longest of all the games in the series. Well, at least on the Playstation. According to Guinness World Records, Resident Evil 2 was the fastest selling video game. And still is being made on different systems. Beginning on the Playstation, it moved to the Nintendo 64 and the PC. It has now been announced that is to appear on the Dreamcast. In my humble opinion, I believe that Capcom sold out when they made RE2 for the 64. Of course, I choose the Playstation for my console of choice. The facts of RE2 are...

Players:1
System(s):Playstation, Nintendo 64, PC, soon moving to the Dreamcast.
Learning Curve:30 minutes
Difficulty:Medium to hard.
Rating:Mature
Effect Ratings:Animated violence, blood, and gore.
Genre:Survival Horror

You begin as Leon Scott Kennedy, a rookie cop for the Raccoon City Police Department, or as Claire Redfield, Chris's sister from the original Resident Evil looking for him. Both entering the city at the same to time to find nothing but walking morons with bleeding flesh and big appetites. Finding each other, they get separated by an ironic accident. Each taking shelter in the Police Department, they find maybe it would have been better to have been outside. Working their way through the huge building, they uncover the sinister plot of Umbrella Incorporated and rescue as many people as possible.

+ and -

+'s

- Terrifying creatures, awesome weapons, and lots of ammo. More ammo than RE1.
- Fast frame rate.
- Little polygonal glitches, only when seeing several enemies at once at long distances.
- Easy to understand story lines, dialogue, and descriptions.
- Great replay value.

-'s

- Sometimes movement is troublesome.
- Puzzles and enemies always the same.

Overall, RE2 is a great game. Check this site regularly for my opinion page about the Resident Evil's. For another review, check videogames.com. Click here to go to the site
