| Biography of Scott Coriell |
| Scott Coriell is a native of Phoenix, AZ. He attended Marcos de Niza High School in Tempe. During his time at Marcos, he was section leader in the Symphonic band and a soloist for the Marching Band. Scott was also involved with the group Young Sounds Of Arizona. He was a member of this group from 1993-1997. The director during this time were Milas Yoes, Neal Finn, and Hugh Lovelady. After High School, Scott went on to study Music Education at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He changed his major to Trumpet Performance in 2002, and graduated with his bachelors degree in 2004. While in Louisiana, Scott established himself as both a performer and a teacher. He was a member of The Echelon Brass Quintet, The Skyliner's Big Band, and a busy freelance musician. He was the first person called on the sub list at the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra. Scott established his trumpet studio in Lafayette, LA consisting of mainly Middle School and High School students. He was also on Faculty at the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra Conservatory of Music, teaching the Musicianship classes and directing the Home-School Band. In the Fall of 2004, Scott Coriell was accepted in the Graduate Program at the University of Arizona. Here he received his Master of Music Degree in 2006. While Scott was in Tucson, he was also a member of the rock/jazz/fusion group Central Park West. He also performed with the Tucson Boys Chorus, and many ensembles at The UofA. Scott is currently a freelance musician in the Phoenix area, also teaching private lessons. |
