Petition:Historic Stupa

I want to draw the attention of concerned authorities towards the declining condition of a remnant of the Buddhist era and the biggest stupa of the sub-continent. This stupa is situated on the main G T Road near Ghalegay (mohallah Shingardar), Swat.

Uttarasena, an ancient king of Swat in 7th century, constructed this very precious stupa to enshrine his share of relics of the Buddha.

Due to its rich historical background this stupa attracts almost all the foreign tourists visiting Swat. But it is very sad to say that due to the negligence of tourism department and lack of maintenance this stupa is deteriorating day by day and if proper care is not taken this rare structure will fast become a thing of the past.
