SCN is pleased to inform its members and general public, that under the guidance of Director General, CD&MD, Malik Saad, the Government of NWFP has begun a restoration project to conserve the Gor Gutheree in Peshawar City, with the help of renowned architects Messrs. Kamil Khan Mumtaz Associates, experts on conservation of Moghul heritage. Dr Farzand Durrani, the world-renowned archeologist, will also be involved in a consultative process with the authorities.
SCN congratulates the government of NWFP on taking this initiative that will restore the past glory of Peshawar city. SCN sincerely hopes that this trend will continue and that Peshawar will be saved from the mindless development without taking into consideration its heritage and culture which retains its past identity and beauty.
