| What does that number mean? |
| What does that number mean? Numbers are assigned to each item as it enters the collection. The first number indicates the year the object entered the collection, while the second number is the donation or accession number. The third number refers to the number that particular item is in that particular donation. For example, 1999.004.1 would refer to a donation that was made in 1999 (1999.); It was the fourth donation that year (.004.) and the item is the first in that donation. |
