Summary of the minutes of the Board of Directors meeting, October 26, 2003

SCLERODERMA QUESTIONNAIRE

The scleroderma questionnaire is being field tested at this time and will be distributed in November, as indicated in the summary notes from the Board meeting of September 20, 2003. This is the questionnaire that is being issued under the authority of Dr. James Dunne, with the support of Actelion Pharmaceuticals. With a distribution to approximately 1400 people, this will be the largest survey of its kind on scleroderma in Canadian history.

EMPTY PRINTER CARTRIDGES

Save those empty printer cartridges!

The Scleroderma Society of Canada, in collaboration with Teckn-O-Laser Inc. of Montreal, is engaged in a fund-raising project by way of recycling empty cartridges from ink jet and laser printers. Teckn-O-Laser is in the business of recycling printer cartridges and will pay for the empty cartridges collected by the Societys Member groups across the country.

This will have the benefit of providing money for research, and it will obviously have a beneficial effect on the environment. We encourage your support. You can contact us regarding the most convenient drop-off location for empty cartridges.

CANADIAN SCLERODERMA RESEARCH GROUP

The Canadian Scleroderma Research Group is a team of 16 doctors from across Canada, under the leadership of Dr. Murray Baron. Their primary objective at this time is to establish a national scleroderma patient database system.
