PART 2
DISCOVERY AND PROPERTIES OF NUMBER 19
Discovery of The Miracle 19
The Miracle that 19 is the common denominator in Quran became a reality in January 1974, coinciding with Zul-Hijjah 1393 A.H.
The Quran was revealed in 13 B.H. (Before Hijrah). This makes the number of years from the revelation of the Quran to the revelation of its miracle:
1393 + 13 = 1406 = 19 x 74.
As noted above, the unveiling of the Miracle took place in 1974. So, there is a definite correlation between
19 x 74 lunar years and 1974 solar years.
This is especially uncanny in view of the fact that "19" is mentioned in Surah 74.
Relationship Between Verse 30 and Number 19
1. If we write verse 30 (where number 19 is mentioned) with Surah 4 (order of revelation of the surah 74), that makes a number:
304 = 19 x 16
2. Number 30 is the 19th Composite (divisible) Number. (Other composite numbers are: 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, 16, 18, 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 30).
Some Mathematical Properties of the Number 19
The number 19 possesses peculiar mathematical properties, for example:
1. It is a prime number, only divisible by itself and one.
2. In its simplest form, 19 =1+9 =10 = 1 + 0 = 1 (Probably meaning One Allah).
3. It encompasses the first numeral (1) and the last numeral (9), as if to proclaim Allah's attribute mentioned in verse 57:3 (First and Last).
<
4. Number 19 is the sum of the numbers 9 and 10. So, this number is the sum of the first powers of 9 and 10, and the difference between the second powers of 9 and 10, (a unique property).
Number 19 as a Prime Number
1. It is the 8th in the list of Prime numbers. (Prime numbers are: 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19). Also see Table 3.1
There is a special relationship between these two numbers, 19 and 8. The number 8 is the index of 19 in prime number theory. Number 19 occurs at verse 74:30, and 8 occurs with reference to Allah at verse 69:17. Adding the surah and verse numbers together we get:
(74+30) + (69+17) = 190 = 19 x 10
Gematrical (Abjad) Values of Arabic Letters
When the Quran was revealed, 14 centuries ago, the numbers known today (the decimal system) did not exist. A universal system was used where the letters of the Arabic, Hebrew, Aramaic, Roman and Greek alphabets were used as numerals. The number assigned to each letter is its "Gematrical Value". In Arabic it is also called Abjad value, where Abjad is a word formed by the four Arabic letters, Alif, Ba, Jeem and Daal.
It is interesting to note that the Miracle 19 not only conforms to the letters, words, etc. of the Holy Quran, but is also governed by the Gematrical values of the Arabic letters, as shown in many examples given in this Article. The Gematrical (Abjad) values of Arabic letters are shown in Table 2.1.
