| The plan was to get up early and head north to Antti's parents' summer cottage. Due to the fun had the night before in Hyvink��, we made our way out of bed at 10:30. The drive to the summer cottage was nice and scenic, and astonishingly similar to driving in the country in Wisconsin. There are rolling hills, pine trees galore, and an occaisional herd of cows. The summer cottage itself was situated on a really nice lake that brought back memories of camping in northern Wisconsin - I now know where to go if I'm feeling homesick. The day was spent relaxing and talking, and we took a nice boat tour of the lake just before dinner. After dinner I got to experience my first Finnish sauna and I think I may be hooked - it was wonderful. Too keep from getting too hot, we jumped in the lake a few times, but man was that cold. Afterward, Pauli set up his telescope on the pier and we all had a nice view of mars and the stars. |
