On Wednesday and Thursday Pauli and I toured around Malmi and Helsinki.  We needed to find a dresser for the apartment and there were a few other odds and ends that I wanted but didn't bring from home.

On Thursday evening, there was a free concert for the engineers on Pauli's campus.  For some reason, there is a tradition for students of different majors to have jumpsuits (or overalls as Pauli calls them) of different colors that distinguish what you do.  Below is a picture of the mechanical engineers wearing yep, pink jumpsuits.  For all of you who wondered about Pauli, this might provide some explanation.

Pauli and I went to downtown Helsinki, and wandered around a bit.  We saw several of the most historic sites, and sat down for a Finnish pancake (crepe).  That evening we traveled to Hyvink, Pauli's hometown.  There I met his parents Irma and Esa for the first time.  They are wonderful people, and welcomed me with big hugs and warm greetings.  We then sat down to dinner and a wonderful dessert that Irma had prepared.
