Josef Krupicka
Antonin Krupicka "Krupecek"
was born at Brzotice #1 on 14 Oct 1868. He was the third son of
Antonin and Barbora (Charvatova) Krupicka. Antonin died in
Chicago on 29 Dec 1915. His wife, Marie died 22 Feb 1914. Josef Joseph Krupicka,
Sr. born in Brzotice No. 1 (21 Jul 1870 8 Oct 1945 ) and
his wife Marie (Dvorakova) (20 Nov 1881 25 Dec 1969) are
in the photo below. They married, 27 Oct 1903 in Chicago, Illinois.
Marie immigrated from Sueti (Snet), Bohemia in Sept. 1900. She
came to live with a sister in Chicago. Josef immigrated in 1898 and came to Chicago. He and his family
moved to Northern Minnesota in 1910 living in Ogema and Rural
Waubin. Josef was a farmer. I have contact with his descendants.
Marie had a sister and brothers in the area of Snet and we have
two postcards from the sister, Marta. There were other children in the
family in Bohemia and there are living descendants of Emanuel in Kutna Hora and Prague. There was a twin, Ludvik born 3 May 1874
his twin
brother, Jan died. Antonie born 2 Feb 1877 and died 18 Dec 1894 at age 17, Jan Nepomuk born 9 Dec 1879, Emanuel born 19 Aug 1882. Maria, the baby of the family
born in 1887 died 15 Oct 1888. Thanks to my
researcher, Dr. Julius Müller and my friend and web consultant,
Josef Zak in Prague for all their continuing help in tracing our
KRUPICKA ancestors. I also wish to thank the relatives and others we met on our visit to the Czech Republic in 2003. It is a beautiful country.
www.geocities.com/discipuluscz To Contact Me: Remember to put my email address in your Safe List if you want an answer from me. Sue B. - I've tried to contact you. Antonin Krupicka
Antonin appears to have emigrated before Frank. He left on the S.
S. GERMANIC in August of 1886 and arrived in NY on 6 September
1886. His occupation in his death notice was listed as a butcher
(in Chicago) starting in 1900. Between 1900 and 1902, he changed
his last name to KRUPECEK.
He married Marie Korinkova (Korinek) on 5 Sep 1887 and they had 6
children: Barbora PHELAN, Anna McSWEENEY, Bozena Bessie
MATOUSEK HAUSNER, Josephine EULER, Emil J. KRUPICKA (1895-1981),
Jan John KRUPICKA (1898-1931). I have contact with
the Euler line but we are looking for descendants of the others.
I have no pictures of Antonin other than the one with his parents
in Brzotice. Here is a wedding picture of his daughter, Josephine.
Married July 1914 in, Illinois.

If anyone can shed some
light on the family from Brzotice No. 1 , please contact me. I now know the house burned down but the original barn area and the well survive.
A translated copy of Fire House Records of Brzotice obtained on a visit to the village from Jan Vosicky of Brzotice #1 on 13 Sept 2003 given to Scarlett Glover. Translation by Marketa Hlaváckova-Vošiká.
"It was a big fire in Brzotice in 1917. On June 3rd six numbers (houses) burnt out, it means house No. 1, No.2, No. ?, No. 21, No. 28 (40). (Hard to decifer numbers writer meant on some.) It was a sad time, none of the firemen were here, all firemen were in the world war. Signed: Frantisek Zikse or Ziba."
Apparently Antonin then had to live in a community house which was a place for those who had no where else to live. It was House #11 and that is the house Antonin died in. He would have been buried in the old Dolni Kralovice Cemetery which is now under water. The river was dammed to provide drinking water for Prague. There is a mass grave in the new Dolni Kralovice Cemetery where bones from the old cemetery were moved and we visited this cemetery on 13 Sept. 2003. There is a gravestone with a saying on it but no names. Other photos will be posted.
I also wish to be notified if you have proof of any dates than
require correction. I have copies of several birth certificates
from the Archives in Prague.
