Abide these Wiccan laws ye must,  In Perfect Love an Perfect Trust.

Live ye must and let to live,  Fairly take an fairly give.
Soft of eye an light of touch,  Speak ye little, listen much.

Cast the Circle thrice about,  To keep unwelcome spirits out.
To bind thy spell well every time,  Let thy spell be spake in rhyme.

Deasil go by waxing moon,  Singing ye ol'Witches rune.
Withershinnes by waning moon,  Chanting out ye baneful tune.

When thy Lady's Moon is new,  Kiss thy hand to Her times two.
When Her Moon rides at the peak,  Then thy hearts desire seek.

Heed the Northwind's mighty gale,  Bar the door an drop thy sail.
If the wind hail from the South,  Love will kiss thee on thy mouth.

Should the wind come from the East,  Expect the new and set a feast.
When the wind blows from the West,  Departed souls shall have no rest.

Nine woods 'neath the cauldron go,  Set them fast an burn them slow.
Elderwood Thy Lady's Tree,  Burn it not or cursed be.

When the wheel begins to turn,  Set thy Beltane fires to burn.
When the wheel hath turned to Yule,  Light thy Log, The Horned One rules!

Heed ye flower, bush an tree,  By Thy Lady blessed be.
Where the rippling waters go,  Cast a stone an truth ye'll know.

When ye set upon a need,  Hearken not another's greed.
With a fool no season spend,  Nor be counted as his friend.

When misfortunes weigh enow,  Wear the star upon thy brow.
Ever true in love ye be,  Lest thy love be false to thee.

Merry Meet an Merry Part,  Bright thy cheeks an warm thy heart.
Mind ye threefold law ye should,  Three times bad an three times good.

These eight words the Rede fulfill,  An it harm none, Do what thou will.

The Rede of the Wiccae:  An Analysis.

Thought to have been written many years ago, it was first published in the Spring 1975 edition of Green Egg by Lady Gwen Thompson.  It appears to be a collection of bardic lore and guidelines. No tradition takes credit for the Rede..
The short version is the last line of hte long version: "An it harm none, do what thou will".  The long version is thirteen stanzas long, one of which is divided & arranged anticenter.  The language appears to be Modern English, but has hints of Middle English.
The term Rede means "counsel, advise, tale, or story.  It is therefore not a list of hard and fast rules or commandments and is not binding to all witches. In fact, by my research, only one tradition specifically binds it's members to the Rede.  Some claim that declaring oneself not bound by the laws of the Rede is akin to declaring oneself not bound by the laws of physics.  Others, like myself see the Rede as a guideline for the greater Wiccan community.
Many versions of the Rede exist.  The above version is in my opinion the best & most poetic I have come across.
