I work in the medical field & realized years ago that I had an unusual sensitivity to scabies. I get them by just walking through the rooms of my patients who have them, (usually one needs to have skin to skin contact with an infected human or their linens). Also, once I get them, it is a 3-5 month nightmare for my entire household. Most of you know how this totally effects all aspects of your life & for some of us, for months at a time.
I hope that this website can bring to those that are suffering, some relief.
These are the things I learned through years of agony & desperate research. It does my heart good to share it with others.
In the past, it has taken 4 or 5 treatments of prescription pesticide from my dermatologist
(either lindane lotion or permethrin cream) which can be used 7 days apart.
I have found some "over the counter" treatments that can get rid of scabies in some individuals or for sensitive skin people like me, I used
in conjunction with what my doc had prescribed for me.
I found ways to:
1. Effectively clean my home without caustic chemicals or pesticides. (The toxic lotion our doc has prescribed is taxing our liver enough, we don't need to spray more around the house & breath it for the next year).
2. Keep my skin soothed, hydrated & repelling wandering mites or their eggs between treatments. Reinfection is common.
