lifespan 3: Nathan is Nullified

Third to Go
Although Paleo had yet to lose immunity, Nathan injured himself after the third immunity challenge and was disqualified.

A Narrative of Nathan
Nathan, the Eagle Scout from Tennessee, appeared to be the ideal Survivor on his application.  However, he suffered a computer crash just as the game was beginning.  Technical recovery and other issues prevented him from significant participation in the game.  He only made one challenge in time, to find that seven of his tribemates had already completed it.  Nate was always positive and friendly when he was around but he failed to contribute, he failed to implement his strategy of alliances, and he failed to make much of any impact on the game.

Why Nathan?
Nathan was unable to lift a finger to help his tribe in the challenges, and he had no alliances.  Nathan's name came up the most often when members of Paleo discussed a vote-out, and he would likely have received at least 3 votes if his tribe had lost the first immunity challenge.

Nathan's Neglect!
Nathan could have saved himself with even a token participation in the challenges.  But as Nate said in his final words, "I could not dedicate more time to the game!"  As one must look very closely to observe him putting any time into the game, his best simply wasn't good enough.

If Not Nathan, Then Who?
Nathan's time had come.  But besides Nathan, who else might have gone?

Emmanual - The well-meaning replacement player has missed only one less challenge than Nathan, and that was by virtue of not being in the game as long.  In fact, the one challenge Eman played was an individual competition, and so he has done nothing for his tribe.  The allies Eman was gaining have all but abandoned him, and he seems to be running out of time.

Dan - Although not nearly so bad as Nate or Eman, Dan is also skating on thin ice.  A strong player who seems to be coasting his way toward the merge is not gaining him any loyalty with his tribemates.

Conclusion
Nathan did not live up to his "Be Prepared" motto, and like those before him was unable to get himself into the game.  It was Nathan's time to go.
