Interview with Kelley

GREG:  At tonight's finale, a favorite player, Kelley, was unfortunately voted out and she has become the final member of the jury.  Welcome, Kelley.
KELLEY:  Thanks, Greg.  Nice to be here.  (smiles brightly)

GREG:  How does it feel to be voted out so close to the end?
KELLEY:  It's a little disappointing, I would have liked to have made it to the final two, but I had a feeling that it was going to happen and I wasn't really surprised to see that it would be me.  I figured Rick and Jon would see that their best chance to win was to face each other, so unless I won the last immunity, I was pretty sure that I'd be leaving.

GREG:  There's a general impression in many Survivors that the person finishing at third place is the one who should have won the game — and would have if the jury got a say in it.  What do you think your chances would be against Rick?  Against Jon?
KELLEY:  I think, without being arrogant, I probably could have won against Rick.  He made a lot of enemies, and several on the jury told me I'd have their vote if I had made it... Jon, on the other hand, I think it would have been close.  I really don't know which of us would have won the game at that point, but I think it would have been a harder choice for the jury than it ended up being.

GREG:  You were the strongest player in the game for challenge wins.  Although the last eliminations were jury threats more than competition threats, did you ever worry you might be making a target of yourself?
KELLEY:  I did and didn't.  I believe in playing my hardest and giving my best regardless of whether or not I am seen as a "threat"... I believe that the hosts give challenges with the intent of everyone giving them their best, and I felt like I would be disrespecting Zoe to throw the challenges she had worked hard on creating.

GREG:  How did it feel winning Immunity at final five and final four?
KELLEY:  It felt great, and it was unexpected.  I just did my best and it paid off, and I think it kept my fate from coming earlier than I expected it to.

GREG:  Do you think anything other than a continued immunity streak could have kept you in the game?
KELLEY:  I think I could have fought a little more, and made a few more enemies, and maybe one of the guys would have thought I'd have been easier to beat [on the jury].  But I don't play like that.  I did the best I could... and I am proud of what I did regardless of whether or not I won.

GREG:  Is there anything you would have done differently, if you could go back?
KELLEY:  I'd have communicated with people a little more consistently throughout the game, I could have tried a little harder and am sorry that I didn't get to know some people as much as I could have.  My strategy was to play a little under-the-radar so I wouldn't be seen as a jury threat... looks like it didn't work like I had hoped. LOL

GREG:  What was your favourite part of the game?
KELLEY:  I loved the challenges and the competition, it was very well-developed and I really enjoyed the chance to really "play" the game.  It was a blast.

GREG:  Tell me honestly, did you and Rick have any cooking rivalries around the campfire?
KELLEY:  Hehe, Rick and I had several rivalries at the end.  Take your pick.  LOL

GREG:  What advice to you have to all those wannabe survivors out there?
KELLEY:  Just have fun, do your best, and be yourself.  As long as you do that, you'll win no matter where you place.

GREG:  Thanks very much for the interview, Kelley!
KELLEY:  You're welcome!  Thanks for having me.  :) (And good luck in SC4!)
