Interview with Janei

GREG:  Hi Janei!
JANEI:  "Hi Greg!  You're a mastermind at writing episodes!"

GREG:  Thanks!  That means a lot!  And you, you were definitely the most strategic player of the three Cree who made the merge, and deservedly were the last of your original tribe.  More than that, however, is that nobody will have survived more Tribal Councils than you except for the finalists.  Had you started on Paleo tribe and had the same TC record, you would have finished at final three.  Pretty impressive, hmmm?
JANEI:  "It's interesting because before the game had begun, I was told that I was on the Paleo Tribe.  When the game had actually begun however, I found myself with Cree members so I don't know what happened there but it's alright, it was great watching Paleo battle it out amongst themselves."

GREG:  They sure did tear at each other, didn't they?  But let's not get ahead of ourselves!  Backing up a step, when Miriam brought up Cree's dirty laundry after the merge, was that the last straw for the two of you?
JANEI:  "Miriam needed a way to survive at the merge and when she realized it was going to be a Cree member out that night, she focused on past events to try and oust me.  In the long run, had I had a little more time to devote myself in the game, Miriam and I would have been a lot closer and I would not have had any relationship with Rob or Karen but it was at the point that I was willing to go with anyone who accepted me.  The game is long over and nobody including me can blame Miriam for how she played, she was there to survive which is what the game is all about.  As for how she feels, I am unsure but I am not one to hold grudges after a competitive game."

GREG:  That's a great attitude!  Let me ask you:  Do you think you might have gotten further in the game if the second-last Cree had been someone you could have worked with — if it had been Staton instead of Miriam?
JANEI:  "Honestly, no.  Cree was doomed from the beginning.  Like I said during my stay in Canada, the only chance Cree had of surviving was to use Michelle because she was backstabbed but communication just didn't work out and in the end, all it did was give Miriam and myself a little more game play."

GREG:  Do you think anything other than a continued immunity streak could have kept you in the game?
JANEI:  "Perhaps had I won immunity one more time, they would have voted Shane off and some of them would have realized that they could use me as an extra vote.  Frankly, I was wanting to see Rick or Diana go far so I would have voted with them but as for being friendlier?  No, Miriam and Staton proved that it didn't matter, and they were voted off as very nice people in the game."

GREG:  Was there any Survivor "showmance" (television romance) between you and Aiden?  The viewers want to know!
JANEI:  "I have to say, Aiden was quite the stud out there (laughs) and had he not gone inactive, I would have been a lot more closer with him throughout the game.  Since the game however, we have gone our own ways."

GREG:  Well, maybe you'll think of me in All-Stars?  Thanks so much for doing this interview, Janei.
JANEI:  "Hey Greg, the interview, the episodes, it's been my pleasure and good luck in the All-Stars game, rock on!"

GREG:  In closing, I would like to quote Steve Harris of Iron Maiden:

We fought him hard, we fought him well
Out on the plains we gave him hell
But many came, too much for Cree
Oh will we ever be set free?
R.I.P. Cree
