Chapter 13
"Hey guess what me dad is going out of a town for the weekend" Paul said.
"No fair!" Sydney cried.
"How is it not fair?" Claire asked.
"You guys will have a place to well you know..." Sydney said drifting off.
Paul just laughed.
"I can't go two more weeks...." George whined.
"Hey I'll be right back" John said as he ran off.
Claire and Sydney looked at each other and shurgged.
"I can't go two weeks either" Sydney said.
"Jessica will just have to take up jogging or some other outdoors activity" Claire said.
Everyone laughed except for Jessica.
"I got a game Jessica could play "Be A Bum" for two weeks" Sydney suggested.
"Hey NO!" Jessica said.
"I think that's a great idea" George said.
"Let's take a vote. Everyone who thinks Jessica should be a bum for two weeks say aye" Sydney said.
"AYE!" everyone except for Jessica said.
"NEY" Jessica said loudly.
"Well I do believe you are out voted" Sydney said grinning.
"NO NO NO NO!" Jessica cried.
"I think me and George could beat you up if nesscary. I could beat you up myself actually" Sydney said.
"Ohhh!" Claire said giggling.
"Why are you guys being so mean to me?" Jessica whined.
"Cause we can" Claire said.
"Where's John gone off to?" Paul asked.
"I don't know, let's go find him Sydney. I have to tell you something along the way" Claire said.
"What about me?" Jessica asked.
"'You're too old'" Sydney and Claire said in unison.
"Huh?" Cyn asked.
"'It's an in-joke you know" Sydney and Claire said in unison.
"We'll be back" Claire said.
Sydney and Claire walked away.
"Where has he gone off to?" Sydney wondered aloud.
"I dunno" Claire said.
"What did you want?" Sydney asked.
"Nothing, I just wanted to come and find John" Claire said.
Then they heard something in the alley.
"Let's check it out" Sydney said.
They walked into a damp and dirty alley. They saw John sitting on the ground in a little ball.
"John?" Claire said.
He looked up slowly. He had tears streaming down his face. Claire and Sydney walked closer.
"What's the matter?" Sydney asked.
"Nothing" he said as he hung his head.
"You don't come and hide out in an alley if nothing is wrong" Claire said.
They sat on either side of him.
"John you can talk to us" Sydney urged.
"She's pregnant" he cried out.
"Cynthia?" Claire asked knowing that it was Cynthia.
"Yeah, she told me this afternoon when Jessica was in the bathroom. I thought I could handle it but..." he said drifting off.
"John, I'm really sorry" Sydney said putting her arm around his sholder.
"I don't know what I'm going to do" he said.
"Are you going to marry her?" Claire asked.
"I don't know, but I have to don't I?" John asked.
"That's the custom" Sydney said slowly.
John wiped his face off fiercly and stood up.
"Let's go" he said putting his hands out to help the girls up.
They both took a hand and stood up. They walked out of the alley and met up with everyone else.
"Where have you been?" George asked.
"Just talking" Sydney said.
"And finding John" Claire said quickly.
"Where were you Johnny luv?" Paul asked.
"I went down to look at some LP's" John said.
"Anything good?" Paul asked.
"Nah" John said.
The guys walked the girls back to Cyn's place.
"I suppose we have to go home" Paul said.
"Yes, the delievery boy must go home and get some beauty rest" John said.
"Shurrup!" Paul said hitting John.
John kissed Cyn on the cheek and bounded down the stairs. Cynthia just glowed.
"Bye Paul" Claire said.
Paul leaned in and kissed her but was interupted by ooooh's from everyone. George pulled Sydney close and gave her a kiss.
The guys said one last good bye and walked down the stairs and back towards their houses.
"I call a bed" Sydney said as they walked inside.
"I call the other one" Claire said quickly.
"Damn!" Jessica said.
