Chapter 12

"Oh yeah sorry. We were just talking" Jessica said.
The girls hurried up to the guys.
"Are we almost there? It feels like I've been walking forever" Jessica complained.
"It's only been 5 minutes" John said laughing.
"So what did you do in Hamburg without us?" Paul asked jokingly.
"We sat around and sat around and then we sat around some more. What about yourself?" Claire asked even though she knew the answer.
"My dad got me a delivery job. I hate it" Paul said.
"So how long until George's birthday?" Claire asked.
"Two weeks. Then back to Hamburg" Paul said happily "You going to come back with us?"
"I suppose" she said.
     Paul's face lit up.
"Oh I want to ask you something. The guard at the police station said two of you tried to burn down a theatre. What was that?" Claire asked.
"Oh that was me and Pete" he said turning red "We didn't try and burn the place down. Ughh we were just playing around."
"Uh huh sure" she said but left it at that.
"We're here" John announced.
The girls had been so caught up in their conversations they hadn't noticed they were on Penny Lane.
"I know it's not much but we like it" Paul said as he opened the blue door.
"No it's great" Claire breathed.
"Sydney and I are going over there" George said pointing to one side of the restaurant.
"Claire and I will be over there" Paul said pointing in the opposite direction.
"I guess that leaves us" John said uncomfortably to Cyn and Jessica.
"'Fraid so" Jessica said as they sat down at a near by table.
Sydney and George walked over to a table and sit down.
"So when do you turn 18?" Sydney asked.
"Febuary 25" George said.
"Wow, that's close" she said.
"Yeah, then we go back to Hamburg" he said happily.
"We all do" she said grinning.
"We can't live without you birds" George said smiling.
"Well I am crazy about you" Sydney said quietly.
"What can I get for you guys?" the waitor asked.
"Two things of fish and chips, cokes too" George said without looking away from Sydney.
     The waitor nodded and left.
"Now where were we?" George asked leaning forward.

Meanwhile at John's table things were uncomfortable.
"You guys were telling me of the time you got drunk together, what did you do afterwards?" Cyn asked.
Jessica almost spit out the water in her mouth.
"We just stumbled back to our places. Slept the whole next day" John said.
"Took a lot of asprin" Jessica said quickly.
"I would assume" Cyn said laughing.
John and Jessica laughed nervously. Paul and Claire had just ordered and were talking.
"So do you like Liverpool so far?" Paul asked.
"Pretty nice, atleast the parts I've seen" Claire said laughing.
"I can't deicde on what to get George for his birthday" Paul wondered aloud.
"What does he want?" Claire asked.
"I'm not sure. Maybe Sydney will hint around and tell me" Paul said.
"I'll ask her for you if you want" Claire said.
"Thanks" Paul said.
"No problem" she said grinning.
"Looks like George and Sydney are entertaining themselves" Paul said looking across the room.
Claire looked their way and then cracked up.
"Why is that funny?" Paul asked.
"They are really going at it" Claire said laughing.
"Making up for lost time" Paul said looking back at Claire.
     Claire looked at him.
"Maybe we should do that" he whispered.
But then the waitor walked up and set their food down at the table.
"Well that ruined the mood" Claire said sighing.
"It did..." Paul said drifting off.
"We can make up for it after" Claire said grinning devishly.
George and Sydney had just gotten their food, the waitor had interupted their little make out fest.
"Waitors always come at the worst times don't they?" Sydney asked laughing.
"They really do. Seems like we're beating Paul and Claire, or we missed what they have done" George said grinning.
"I think we're beating them. They might be saving everything for afterwards" Sydney said.
"I'm really glad my parents liked you" he said.
"Me too! They are really nice" she said.
     They both started to eat.
"This is better then the crap we've been eating in Hamburg" she said.
"We hardly ate in Hamburg" he said laughing.
"Poor deprived little Teddy boys from Liverpool" she said laughing.
"Yes poor us" he said.
Everyone ate their dinner and payed. They all met each other outside on the front steps of the restaurant.
"Let's take a walk" Cyn suggested.
Everyone agreed and so they went walking down the street.
