Ring Ring
"'ello?" Paul's voice asked sleepily
BRIING! Claire heard an alarm clock going of on the other end of the telephone line, which she guesed was coming from John's house.
"Rise and shine, tonto," Claire heard John's voice say.
Paul and Claire simaltaniously looked at the clock.
"Fuck you, John. It's 5 o'clock in the morning. Why are you awake anyway?" Paul asked as Claire tried unsuccessfully to fall back asleep.
"Well, I've been thinking and I have a really great new song called 'Help'. I think we'll be able to use it in the new movie," John said.
"Paul, could you ask him to quiet down?" Claire asked groggily.
"Sorry, luv," Paul said. "Keep down, Lennon. Honestly, you called me to tell me you had a new song? Couldn't you have waited?"
"Probably." John said laughing. "But now we only need two more songs for the LP. Let's see we have my new song..."
"If it's any good," Paul interrupted.
"Ye of little faith. Ok, and then how about you write a song and..shit we need a song for Ringo," John said.
"No. Ringo and I talked. He's doing a song called 'Act Naturally'. OK well, Talk to you later, John," Paul said.
"OK, tell Claire hi," John said.
"I don't think she could help but hear. I guess we'll have to get together today about recording." Paul responded.
"1 o'clock at my place?" John suggested.
Paul agreed
"Oh and don't worry. I'm already about half way done with a song. OK I'll see ya later," Paul said and hung up.
"Claire?" he asked, but she was already back asleep.
Sydney heard the phone ring in her dream. Then she heard George answer it.
"John, I'm not talking this early in the morning.. .Yes I'm very happy you have a new song....Yes OK, I'll be there. alright John...Yes John....ok...bye" said her husband George's voice.
"Ahhhhh early," Sydney said.
"Go back to sleep, honey!" George said.
He didn't have to ask twice.
"And then we'll end with 'won't you please please help me'. What do you think?" John asked later that day.
" I like it!" Paul said.
"Very nice," George said.
"Nice nice," Ringo said.
"OK so Paul you're song?" John asked.
"Oh, Ok it's called Another Girl," Paul began.
"Are you getting another girl?" John asked pretending to hope so.
"No! Claire IS the other girl. She's the one who'll love me through thick and thin, And even if I was.. you have Cyn," Paul said.
"Yeah we'll let's hear it," John said.
So Paul played the song.
"Terrific,' John said when he'd finished.
" Very good," George said
"Good good," Ringo said.
"So what time did he call you and Paul?" Sydney asked that same day as her, Claire, and Cyn sat in Claire's living room.
"Too damn early. like 5,"Claire answered.
"Oh well he called us at 5:30, so you must hate him more than us," Sydney joked.
"Oh don't hate him! He was just joking around. Please," Cynthia begged.
"Woah..we're just kidding. I mean..yeah at first I was mad, but I got over it,"Claire said shooting Cynthia a quizical look.
"Oh..um..well how is everything with you?" Cynthia asked changing the subject.
"Cyn is everything ok?"Sydney asked.
"Yeah! Great! Why?" Cyn asked.
"Because you've been being all edgy lately. Are you and John ok?" Claire answered for her.
"Well..." Cyn began.
"Mummy," Julian called.
"Coming," Cyn yelled and ran to take care of her baby.
