Chapter 2
"So how is your record coming along?" Claire asked Paul that night as they ate dinner.
"Great. We have all the songs together. I think it's gonna be a good LP," Paul replied.
"Paul, has John been edgy or anything lately?" Claire asked.
"No, if anyhting he's been joking more than ever. Well, he's been a bit grouchy," Paul answered.
"Well, Cyn's been really jumpy lately and I thought it may have something to do with John. Oh well! I heard John say you needed to write a song! What's it called," she asked.
"Ummmm "Another Girl". Wait! You already know that! You're from the future," he said.
Claire laughed.
"I know, but alot has changed from how it was going to be. Now this 'Another Girl' song, are you hinting something?"she joked.
"No. You're the new girl, the good girl. And ummm Claire, there's something I'd like to ask. We've been dating for 5 years and living together for 4, so ummm," Paul said as he go tot his knee. "Will you marry me?"
"YES!" Claire said enthustically.
"Great!" Paul said as he gave her a kiss and put the ring on her finger.
"So, when?" Claire asked.
"Well, It only took George and Sydney a few months. How about two or three months?" Paul asked.
"Yeah I guess that's about how long it takes. I've never actually planned a wedding. Oh but your going to have all your Beatle stuff. You won't have time.." Claire said.
"Don't say that! I'll always have time for you, Claire. I love you!" Paul said.
"I know! I mean.. I love you too!" she said and gave him a kiss.
"OK well of everything goes to plan the record is estimated by George Martin to come out around August, so hmmmm..it's January now. How about June?" Paul asked.
"No June 18th is your birthday...how about May?" Claire suggested.
"Perfect! Want to invite everyone over to tell them?" Paul asked.
"Sure!" Claire said.
An hour later John, George, Sydney, Cynthia, Ringo, and Maureen were seated at Paul and Claire's waiting to hear "the news"
"Claire and I are getting married," Paul said holding up Claires hand to show the engagement ring.
"Nooooo! Claire, how could you do this to me?" John joked.
"John, I just knew it wouldn't last," Claire joked back.
"When?" Sydney asked.
"May," Claire and Paul said in unison.
"Congrats Paulie!" John said as he stood up and shook Paul's hand.
The guys all shook hands and the girls all hugged. Then Claire hugged all the guys.
"Jolly good" Sydney whispered to Claire.
"You didn't do too bad yourself," Claire said smiling. "Sydney, Would you be my maid of honor?"
"Of course!" Sydney said.
"My turn! NO hogging Claire," John said.
He gave Claire a big hug and kiss.
"Now you'll never get away from me!" John said.
"Hope not!" Claire said as she gave him another kiss.
The next morning as the guy all went to record, the girls all went to find a place for the wedding.
"So where do you want it anyways?" Sydney asked.
"Outside. Like a rose garden or something," Claire answered.
"Oh Claire I know where there is this really great garden. It's kinda far away, but would you like me to take you there?" Cyn asked.
"Yeah," Claire said. "Let's go!"
As the girls walked to the car, Sydney and Claire hung back to talk.
"Too bad no one from home or our time even will be abe to be there," Claire said sadly.
"But all our new friends will be," Sydney said trying to cheer her up.
"Yeah, but you know I've always wanted "I Will" to play at my wedding, it isn't even written yet," Claire said.
"They can't play "In My Life" or "Two of Us" either," Sydney said, "but you're marrying Paul."
"Yes! I am marrying my dream guy!" Claire said cheering up.
"See be happy! O and I forgot to tell you, Linda's out of all Beatle books. She was when I left so...Be extra happy! Let's go get in the car," Sydney said.
"What did you do today?" George asked Sydney that evening.
"We found a place for Claire's wedding and..just talked," Sydney said.
"You are so beautiful, Sydney," George said.
"Well, thanks. You aen't so hard to look at yourself,"She said.
"I'm glad you came back from the future. Life would have sucked with out you," George said.
"Yeah I know.. I mean.. I just couldn't stay there knowing I had you back here," Sydney said.
"Good save," George said.
"I thought so," Sydney said and gave him a kiss.
"Shall we go hope on the good foot and do the bad thing?" Sydnay asked joking.
"Excuse me?" George said.
"Never mind! C'mon..to the bedroom," Sydney said as her and George went into their room.
