AIT Day 11

October 7th, 2002

GASP! Where is day 10? I skipped my first entry since July 16th, 2002. I'm not going to be writing everyday anymore because unlike BCT, we don't do something new and exciting everyday at AIT. If I wrote everyday, it would be a boring personal diary.

I have CQ again. It's Sunday night. My shift is two hours. I shouldn't be writing during CQ, but I am. It's 0036. Ain't nobody coming through that front door all night, so I will not miss anything if I have my eyes on the paper.

My parents and girlfriend visited me yesterday. Isn't APG cool? My second weekend and I can have all the visitors I want. I don't know how it applies in other bases. They're all different. AIT doesn't have a schedule everyone can follow like BCT. I took my visitors to the rec and the dining facility. Good of the dining facility to have cheesecake. It left a good impression on my parents. It was great to have them and my girlfriend here.

See what I mean about writing during AIT? B-O-R-I-N-G material. Don't get me wrong, I love it here. It's just that everyday I go to the rec or gym. It's not good material.

I just finished my first AIT test. It was on technical manuals. It was so easy, it was a joke. We were given 90 minutes to complete the test. I finished in 10. The good thing about army testing is that you're graded on the spot. I got all eight questions right. I was the first one finished, so now I get to sit here and wait.

Oy Vey! It's been ten more minutes and still no one else finished. Our instructor, SGT Machado, sent me to the break room to wait. Right now it's just me and the never-ending hum of the snack and soda machines.
