Saving Arrows is an pro-active group. We volunteer at the Crisis Pregnancy Centers and other Pro-Life Support Groups and organizations. We attend Christian Concerts and events to further educate the masses.

Saving Arrows' Benefit Show

September 1, 2001

Saving Arrows hosted their first benefit show September 1, 2001, the day after our first Chastity Rally. Joy Brooks (our music department director), with the help of Jessica Nelson (our current treasurer), put together a great night. We had a good turn out and Saving Arrows was blessed by the event.

Skyline Drive, Rob Esperat, Pops Body Shop and Days on End came together to help bless Saving Arrows. Our thanks go out to the bands for their support and efforts.

Nassiar Jones (Captain Abstinence) was allowed to speak for a few minutes, inbetween bands, to minister to the youth at the show. Mellisa Powell, our director, also said a few words. And much to our delight we were able to put out four new lines of patches.

Our thanks go out to Hope and Coy who got us hooked up and to all the volunteers who came together for this night. Also, thank-you again to the bands who came out and played. And praise God!

Saving Arrows' Chastity Rally

August 31, 2001

On August 31, 2001 Saving Arrows kicked off their first Chastity Rally. We felt that as a pro-life group, it is not only our responsibility to promote and carry out the pro-life message through rallies and other outreaches, but, also, to go to one of the roots of abortion: sex before marriage.

We got things started out a little late but it was a great night. Brandon opened up with a few songs on his guitar and Heather McLewin followed with an improvisational worship dance.

Captain Abstinence (Nassiar Jones) spoke on the six human needs. These six needs provided the motive for anything you ever did. Having this knowledge is a powerful ministry tool. It can help you relate to someone, reach out to them on their level and help you understand why they do the things they do.

Captain Abstinence also shared his testimony and how he got the name "Captain Abstinence". He explained that once, while talking about his life to a co-worker, his co-worker sarcastically retorted "Who are you, Captain Abstinence?" and it's stuck ever since.

Captain Abstinence also got to spend some personal time with Saving Arrows, answering questions and ministering to our lives. All in all it was a great night and we look forward to working with Nassair Jones again.
