Updates
03.05.07
UPDATES:
I know. I suck at updating. My only excuse is that last year wasn't really a big year writing-wise for me, but I'm hoping to rectify that this year. Meanwhile, I give you some updates.
Smallville -- added my first Chloe/Ollie fic, I'm Okay With That (I Am).
Other -- added three Harry Potter fics, Enough, A Killing Grace and it's follow-up A Killer's Grace, all Draco/Hermione-centric, and my first FVII: Advent Children fic, How It Goes.
That's it for now. Once I get a bit of spare time I plan on adding some new fic recs and removing any dead links. Hopefully it won't take a year for me to get around to that. Sigh.

UPDATES:
It's been almost six months since I've updated. Time flies when you're having fun, eh? University sure takes it out of you.
Only a small update today, but I hope to add more later. I've recently jumped into the Harry Potter fandom in a big way and my favourite new 'ship is undoubtedly Draco/Hermione. Expect to see this site updated with fic recs and links very soon, but for now:
Smallville -- added a new Chlark fic, Black-Eyed Boy, an angsty little number I hope you'll like.
Other -- added Two Weeks, Three Days, Eight Hours, my first, and probably only, House fic. House/Cameron-centric.
My bio has also been updated.

---
07.06.05
UPDATES:
Other - added my first Star Wars, Padme/Anakin fic, Half-Light.
Smallville - chapter four of Embittered added.
Recommendations - added Star Wars recs for Padme/Anakin writer, Kelly B.
Links - in honour of my new-found Star Wars obsession, I've added links to three different Star Wars sites -- The Moons of Iego, a Padme/Anakin fanfic archive, Star Wars Fanfic Recs, which is pretty self-explanatory, and The Padme/Anakin Erotica Fic List, which again, is pretty self explanatory. I've also added a link to the archive of one of my favourite writers, The Pretty Flower.

UPDATES: A bigger update this time.
Smallville - chapter two of Here Is Gone has been added and merged with chapter one and is now complete. Embittered has been updated with chapter three. My entry for Remix Redux III, Into the Woods (The Heroine Addict Remix), has also been added.
Pitch Black - chapter three of Helpless is finally here. Also added a short, ambiguous piece, Seeking Apathy, which looks into the supposed death of "Jack".
Dark Angel - added a link to Koanju's remix of my first Dark Angel fic, Grace.
Recommendations - added two Kitty/Kurt recs. Cat and Mouse by Saille and Tarnished Goods by TW Lewis.
Links - added a link to Saille's Nightcrawler fanfiction archive and a link to Fur and Brimstone, a Nightcrawler fanfiction site.

UPDATES: Not much to update. Just a quick note to let people know there's been a name change. Midnight Scrawlings will now be known as Dea Artis Vox, which, when roughly translated, means voice of the art goddess. My, doesn't that sound pompous?
Dea Artis Vox was originally the name of an e-zine that was run by me and a friend a few summers ago. I've always loved the name but felt it might give the wrong impression if I used it on this site -- referring to myself as a goddess maybe flattering in theory, but in practice it's a little egotistical.
Then I figured, hey, what the hell? You all know I'm far from an almighty deity, right? I find the name almost fitting considering my years-old interest in mythical lores surrounding deities of all kinds.
Some writers may also be aware that what we consider to be our muse was actually regarded as one of those deities, better known as Calliope, the Greek Muse of Epic Poetry (there's nine in total, covering differing passions from music to drama to art). I've often heard people say, and I've said it myself, that the work we write is not a matter of a production, but the product of our own personal muse. Many of you know that our muse takes the good with the bad -- accepting the praise for a piece well written, and taking the flack for a piece poorly written or a piece not written at all.
Thus the name of this site is not referring to me, but my muse. My muse is my art goddess and whatever you find here is its voice. Therefore I cannot be held responsible for anything that may go wrong during your visit here. Ehe.
Bio - added a link to my new LJ, dea artis vox, which will be used primarily for posting snippets of original works (drabbles, poems, short prose, rants, etc.).
COMING SOON: Chapter three of Helpless will be coming shortly, as will chapter two of Here Is Gone (hopefully) and a new chapter of Embittered. I currently have a Ginger Snaps character study in the works, but I won't give too much away just yet.

UPDATES: Meep. Almost five months between updates. That's tres bad. Anyway, as you can probably tell I've had to move Midnight Scrawlings to Geocities due to some problems with my old webspace (which a friend had kindly offered me free of charge). I apologise to everyone for the annoying pop-ups and the even more annoying side-bar, but until I either find the money to buy my own webspace or acquire some somewhere else, there's not a lot I can do about it. Sorry guys. On with the update (which is miniscule, considering the length of time that's passed).
Smallville - chapter one of Here Is Gone, a Chloe/Bart fic based two years after "Run".
Recommendations - added two new recommendations. Minisinoo's Scott/Jean-centric X-Men novel, An Accidental Interception of Fate, and Kelley Armstrong's (author of Bitten, Stolen, Dime Store Magic and Industrial Magic) e-serials and short stories.
Links - added four new links. The Medicine Wheel, an X-Men archive that hosts the splendid works of Minisinoo, Bright Shiny Objects, a fic recs archive that covers numerous fandoms, including Alias, Harry Potter, Stargate SG-1, X-Men and many more, X-Men FAQ, a must for any confused fan delving into the comicverse for the first time, and Kelley Amstrong.com, the official site for the author of the Otherworld series.

Pitch Black - chapter two of Helpless added, a Jack/Riddick fic with a father-daughter angle.

Also added Places That You Know, written by MollyTM - an O.C/Smallville crossover following the developing relationship between Ryan, Seth, and Smallville character Chloe Sullivan.

14.03.04 - Midnight Scrawlings is officially up and running. Youll find most of my works archived here, bar a number of unsatisfactory fics that I feel dont even deserve the web space, as well as fanfiction recommendations and links.
You wont, however, find my original works here. Anyone who wants to read my original fiction (which is mostly mythology-orientated) can contact me by clicking here.
UPDATES: a short, X-Men II vignette in the Other section, titled Fire and Ice, and two work-in-progresses in the Smallville section - A Paradise Made For One (the sequel to A Weekend Made For Two) and Befallen.
I love feedback of any kind so please feel free to send as much of it as you want at any time you want. You can send it by clicking the Contact section. See? Easy.
