Lamina was shocked when she heard that. My gosh, Darren thinks I'M Colby? Nah, this can't be right... thought Lamina as she shook her head in disbelief. Darren was still there. After a while, Lamina followed Darren into her own house. She saw Daniel sitting on one of the couches in the hall. She waved at him and then followed Darren to the dining room, where he had prepared a dinner of linguini with pesto - Darren's -- and also Lamina's -- favourite meal. She invited Daniel to come and eat with them and after they finisehd and Daniel left, Lamina started to question Darren.
"Darren, you're quite sweet, thanks, but aren't you supposed to be married to COLBY TAYLOR?" asked Lamina. Darren looked at her in puzzlement. "Who's Colby?" asked Darren. "I don't know anyone named Colby! Really!" Lamina didn't know what to do now. Just then she remembered a dream she once had - where she dreamt that Colby didn't exist and that Darren was to marry her instead. Oh dear, thought Lamina, my dream's coming true. Arrgh. She decided to go to the Registry Of Marriages tomorrow afternoon during lunch break to check if Darren's married the wrong gal.
Surprisingly, work was actually doing very well. She didn't get teased by her workmates, she got a raise AND a promotion and she got some new friends in the process. Her boss was also kind enough to let her go to the Savage Garden concert and pay her as if she was really working overtime. But what surprised Lamina even more was when she read Darren's marriage license at the Registry Of Marriages which was nearby her office.
Her name was listed as Darren's bride.
Still in disbelief, Lamina went to the local hospital and checked all the birth records, using Colby's date of birth as a guide. Colby's birth certificate wasn't there. Then she realized something:
