Oh, just my luck, thought Lamina to herself, Colby doesn't exist - just as I once dreamt. She saw that whatever she once dreamt was now reality. And whatever was once reality was only a vision in her mind.
Oh well.... thought Lamina again, what can I do about it? At least everything's fine....according to my dreams anyway.... True. Savage Garden sold more records than ever. She & Darren had a nice time being together. Her work went on perfectly. She got raises after raises after raises. She was extremly happy and soon forgot about Colby. All she wanted to know is how did all of this came about.
She went to the bookshop and found a book about paranormal stuff. A particular chapter suddenly interested her. She opened to the page and read about Parallel Worlds. She was shocked at what she read:
'Every once in a while, a person would usually find himself in a place much like his usual one, only here whatever he used to dream in the 'first world' was this world's reality, and vice versa. The entry to this 'other world' usually occurs when the person involved is in a trip of some sort. Subway tunnels are usually the best bet. The person involved won't be able to return until he has stayed here - the 'parallel world' - for about 10-15 years. Some people get stuck here for eternity. This occurence happens only to very few people. These people are usually the sort who dream a lot and have a small glint of hope that their deepest fantasies, no matter how abnormal they may seem, will become true one day........'
