The purpose of this page is to explore the non-white ancestry of Southeast Georgia
families. It is inclusive of those who were slaves, free non-whites, mulattos, natives
who were displaced by the settlers and other non-Europeans as well as all those who
intermarried with them. This research has been largely been ignored by most published
genealogies of the region. This topic has its own page, not to suggest that this and white,
European  ancestral research should necessarily be done differently, but as an attempt
to present the material and discussion in one concise, focused section.
