THE ASSOCIATED PRESS PRESENTS THE
SHL THREE WEEK REPORT
(Oct 4-Oct 22)
Nut Town Natives
Original AP Rank: 12th
SHL Standings: 9th
Expected To Finish: 11th
The Natives goaltending has simply been unbeatable Nikolai Khabibulin suprisingly has carried the bulk of the load.Travis Nutting however is going to have to acquire some offensive help for Jason Spezza and Simon Gagne if the Natives aren't gonna spend time in the cellar.
Olchowyville Leafs
Original AP Rank: 11th
SHL Standings: 4th
Expected To Finish: 7th
The Leafs goaltending has stood it's ground and will continue to do so.  The strong start has been due to there players unfortunately over producing, don't expect this to continue and look for the Leafs barely to miss the playoffs.
Gregville Assassines
Original AP Rank: 10th
SHL Standings: 6th
Expected To Finish: 8th
Mikka Kiprusoff is leading the solid goaltening core which is the heart and soul of this team.  Besides Markus Naslund it is unfortunate the offence can not help the Assassines spectacular goaltending.
Marktown Petes
Original AP Rank: 9th
SHL Standings: 10th
Expected To Finish: 6th
The Petes slowstart was due to facing strong teams but after a 3-1 win over Trach City the Petes will start to show their promise.  Rookie GM Mark Peterson has been snapping up some key free agents to help his squad to most likely make the playoffs.
Brantown Slammerrs
Original AP Rank: 8th
SHL Standings: 7th
Expected To Finish: 9th
Everybody has it in for the Brantown Slammers being the returning Copenhagen Cup Champions and with the lackluster squad Brandon Allen has produced look for the Slam' to miss the playoffs.
Trach City Americans
Original AP Rank: 7th
SHL Standings: 12th
Expected To Finish: 12th
The Americans have four offensive studs Heatley, Lecavalier, Iginla and Havlat.  The Americans defence is simply below average and with the ankle injury  to Martin Havlat it starts a downward incline to another lackluster season in Trach City.
Fort Macfie Gangbang
Original AP Rank: 6th
SHL Standings: 5th
Expected To Finish: 4th
The Gangbang continue to show promise after getting hammered in there first ever SHL game at the hands of the first place Twisters.  The Gangbang have some of the most underrated point-getters in the legue and will continue to suprise as the season progresses.
Adamville Falcons
Original AP Rank: 5th
SHL Standings: 11th
Expected To Finish: 10th
The Falcons have done nothing but dissapoint against poor teams.  First Round Draft Choice Daniel Alfreddson is having a poor start.  The brightest point of the season has been a 3-3 tie with Nut Town
Gilmore Gold Jackets
Original AP Rank: 4th
SHL Standings: 3rd
Expected To Finish: 3rd
The Gold Jackets scouting staff have done their job from day one.  Maxim Afinogenov has been a pleasant suprise for GM Hans Johansen.  If Staal and Elias continue to produce look for the Jackets to have a chance to win the Copey Cup in their inaugaral season.
Scott City Grrrowl
Original AP Rank: 3rd
SHL Standings: 2nd
Expected To Finish: 1st
The Grrrowl had a solid team from draft day.  There only question mark was goaltending after acquiring Andrew Raycroft and Pascal Leclaire the Grrrowl look like the team to beat now.  They lost to Trach City in week one but that was without Leclaire and Raycroft.  Look for the Grrrowl to battle with the Twists' all season long for first place.
Rumpyvill Roughhosers
Original AP Rank: 2nd
SHL Standings: 8th
Expected To Finish: 5th
The Roughhosers last two losses have been like the Petes a result of facing strong teams.  If GM Trent Rumpel can keep showing up to the office and putting in some hard work the Roughhosers might have a chance at the Copenhagen Cup
Dionland Twisters
Original AP Rank: 1st
SHL Standings: 1st
Expected To Finish: 2nd
The Twisters continue their reign at the top spot in the SHL Regular Season standings but with an early easy schedule it might be a little ill-advised to how the season will turn out although still having a strong squad look for the Twisters to be a real contender for the Championship trophy.
Three Weeks Three Stars

Third Star: Martin Havlat (Trach City Americans)   7G 6A 13P

Second Star: Manny Fernandez (Nut Town Natives) 6W 2SO
First Star: Kari Lethonen (Dionland Twisters)  6W 2SO
Rumor Mill
The Dionland Twisters and Scott City Grrrowl even with the competition in the standings are rumored to be making a deal.
Possible players to be dealt for the Twisters: Alexander Frolov, Pavel Datsyuk
Possible players to be dealt for the Grrrowl: Nils Ekman, Colby Armstrong, Olaf Kolzig

The Gilmore Gold Jackets are really trying to get rid of injured Cory Stillman, A rumor is going around Hans Johansen offered the Grrrowl Stillman for Malkin and Scott Macfie somehow got into a situation where he accepted the trade on mistake through some paper work the SHL did not allow this trade to take place.

The Marktown Petes are always looking to wheel and deal look for GM Mark Peterson to be willing to deal anybody besides Captain Ryan Smyth

Gregville Assassines have been offered numerous trades for Mikka Kiprusoff but it looks like he will stay with the Assassines.

Nut Town Natives GM Travis Nutting wants to send Roberto Luongo out of town, The Teams showing the most interest in Luongo are Fort Macfie, Gilmore, Scott City, Dionland, and Adamville.

Adamville Falcons Gm Adam Wilkinson is beginning to realize his teams weaknesses and look for him to make a deal or two in the upcoming weeks.
