(Abby's Thoughts)

Back to reality.  Winter break was such a welcome relief.  I got to see all my family members, including my sister, brother-in-law, and niece in New York.  I have to say that my niece is the cutest!  And that's not just my biased opinion. =)  I got to see her take her first steps when I was in New York.  She took them on the day I was leaving.  I think she knew that I was going home so she decided to walk for me as a present! Hee hee.

But yeah, break was really relaxing and just really fun.  I finally saw Jessie's house, I got to hang out with Mel, I went to my first TV taping, Es and I caught up on what's been going on lately, I hung out with Norcal people for like a week at my house, I got to see my brother off to college (woo hoo!), went to my home church and saw lots of people I haven't seen in awhile.  It was great!  I don't feel quite ready for school to start but I am glad to be back in Berkeley.  Sarah and I just had another one of our chat marathons, catching each other up on what's been happening this past month.  It was cool.  I missed her.

Wow, it's late...disjointed thoughts.  I watched "Fear Factor" last Monday while talking on the phone with Jessie.  It was almost like watching it with her next to me!  Hee hee.  I think my mommy thought we were really weird.  Oh wells.  "Fear Factor" is so much more fun when you watch with someone.  Our "Fear Factor" party was just missing Jason.  Maybe next time.  But yeah, Jessie and I were soooo grossed out after we watched it.  But it was so fun being grossed out together! Haha.

I think my mom is really cool.  =)  She's the most hospitable person I know.  I don't think I could do half of what she does.  She thrives on having people to take care of and having them come over.  She was very excited when the Norcal people came over; she kept asking me if they wanted a home cooked meal.  And then she told me about how she's hosting a party this weekend for the crisis pregnancy center that she's a board member of.  I'm amazed by her.  7 people just slept at our house for several nights and already she's getting ready for another party.  She's just very hospitable with her house and with her time.  I think that's why so many people are drawn to our house.  Growing up, I remember there was always someone staying at our house, whether it was seminary students who needed places to live or a family of 4 who needed a residence for a year while their new house was being built or kids whose parents went out of town for a weekend.  And she never seems put out when people show up on our doorstep to visit.  She uses her house to love others the way God has called us to love others, unconditionally and at all times.  I hope that I will be able to love people as much as my mom does.

Well, this update is all over the place.  Oh wells.  Goodnight world.  Sleep well.  I know I will. *yawn* =)

P.S. Happy Birthday, Jessie!!!
