| October 14, 2002 6:05 PM Well, I don't really have anything truly profound to write about today but I'm waiting for chicken to bake and decided to write about a book. =) Yesterday I was very bad and instead of working on a paper, I read a book. I borrowed this book from Christine called "Confessions of a Shopaholic" and I thought I would just read a couple chapters before I started working. I GOT HOOKED!!! Seriously, it is the FUNNIEST book I have ever read and it's really addictive. I was literally laughing out loud and Sarah and Christine came in at one point because they thought I was going to die of laughter. It's incredibly funny and entertaining. I highly highly recommend it. The character in the book is crazy!! She is sooo good at rationalizing certain purchases. I can almost hear myself using some of those rationalizations when I am thinking about buying something from an infomercial. I'm trying to be good and not start the second one which is titled "Shopaholic Takes Manhattan" but it's very hard. I must resist though and wait until AFTER my midterm. Sarah is reading "Confessions" right now and she's totally hooked. I even emailed my sister about this book. I love fun books!!! =) Hmm, so I guess I should try to write at least something a little profound otherwise this update is just pure fluff. =) Not that I mind fluff but since these are supposed to be my "profound" thoughts, I don't want people to think my profound thoughts consist of a book about a woman who cannot control her spending habits. =) I REALLY like my decal class. It's called "Is your calling calling?" aka "finding your vocation". It's such an incredible class because I feel like I learn something new in every class! How many classes can you honestly say that about? Actually, this semester my classes are really great! I feel like this is my best learning semester because I am learning new things in every class. And not just random stuff that I won't ever need to use. I've been having to change my opinions and preconceived notions about a lot of different things because of what I'm learning in my classes. Especially the decal and my education class. These classes have totally broadened my views and really challenged my thinking. I wish every semester was like this. It really makes me enjoy going to school and that's kind of a first for me, which is sad, I know, since this is my last year. But at least I'll finish on a good note. =) Hopefully with better grades too! I think it's great when friends talk about deeper stuff. It's fun to spaz and talk about random stuff but it's really awesome to pray with people and talk about things God is teaching us. Okays, I'm out of stuff to write. I'm not very good at posting stuff anymore. I can't think of anything to say! Oh wells.... Random aside: My sister is hilarious. I like getting emails from her cuz she always makes me laugh out loud when I read them. =) |
