| Michaela put her fingers on his lips and stepped back. I shouldnt be doing this. Im sorry. She turned around to head home and it was then that Sully grabbed her arm. Im sorry. I didnt mean to scare you. No, you didnt scare me. Its just, I hardly know you. Sully took the back of her hand and kissed it. Will I see you again? Michaela blushed and nodded. Good night Sully. That night as Michaela was getting ready for bed, she heard a knock on her door. Come in. As she sat in her vanity brushing her hair, she heard soft giggles as Liz entered the room. So? How was the walk? And dont leave anything out! Michaela laughed and blushed as she kept brushing her hair. Michaela, you cant keep this a secret! It is my duty as your sister and best friend to get the details out of you! Michaela laughed even harder Theres nothing to tell. Do you honestly expect me to believe that? Come on there has to be something! Honestly Liz, theres nothing to tell. Not even a peck, or hand holding, or an attempt at a kiss? NOTHING?! Michaela felt her face grow warm and her smile broadened. Michaela, I know you too well. That smile you have says something DID happen! Come on Michaela, tell me! Fine, Ill tell you. Liz giggled and sat on Michaelas bed with a pillow on her lap. Alright, Im ready. What happened?! Well, we almost kissed. Almost? Why didnt you? Because I kept hearing mothers voice saying it wasnt proper. Did you want to kiss him? Yes, thats the weird part about it. When Im near him my heart starts racing, and Im not able to think about anything else but him. I dont think thats weird at all, I think its romantic. Really? Yes Michaela, really. Liz, do you think hed take me to the ball? You mean the masquerade ball next week? Yes. Michaela answered back putting her brush down and walking over to the bed. He might, you never know. Goodnight Michaela. Goodnight Liz. After Liz went to bed, Michaela went over to the window and looked out at the night air. Sully was also looking up into the night air. He couldnt get her off his mind. Every time he closed his eyes he was haunted by her image. I have to see her. He grabbed his coat and headed out the door. Liz was asleep when she heard tapping on her window. She walked over to the window and saw Sully throwing pebbles at it. She opened her window and leaned out. Sully? she whispered. Im sorry. I thought this was Michaelas room. Liz pointed to the front door, Meet me there. She tiptoed downstairs not wanting to wake anyone up. Sully, what are you doing here? she whispered as she opened the door. Im sorry. I just I had to see her again. Would you like for me to get her for you? No, I shouldnt have come here. Goodnight and sorry again. The following morning, Liz got up early to talk to her father before he left for the day. Father, may I speak with you? Certainly dear, my doors always open. Back Next |
