• 2/43: ECT temporarily taken out of combat -- ECT requests return to combat, or as alternative, transport
• 3/43: Three 2nd Lts., including ECT, relieved of assignment with 13th "Repl. Control Depot" and assigned to 324th Fighter Group
• 4/43: ECT and another 2nd Lt. released from HQ IX Air Service and assigned to 316th Troop Carrier Group
• Travel orders - ECT copilot of aircraft (no type given) to travel on 10/5/43 to Hendon, London, report to 9th Air Force, Sunninghill, London
• England trip log written by ECT
• 1/18/44: ECT promoted from Second Lieutenant to First Lieutenant, by command of Major General Brereton
• Smiling snap of ECT; perhaps in England
• 2/44: All of ECT's squadron got new assignments with 313th Air Transport Service, 31st Transport Group; Dad to Principal Duty of Engineering Officer
• 7/44: HQ, First General Hospital, Etousa: ECT released from this hospital to "a general hospital for further observation and treatment" -- I think this is recovering from shrapnel in the "rear"
• 8/44: Lovell General Hospital, Fort Devers, MA: ECT released for 30 day sick leave, after which to report back to hospital
