We had a wonderful excursion planned in Macon. Wine tasting but it was canceled. Jim and I walked around the town, did some shopping, wandered around a french grocery store which was so simple. Meat section, dairy section and produce section. We were about three days ahead of the Tour de France. This church, St Pierre is across from the city hall. I love the bycicle topieries. A few days later we saw ariel shots of church st Pierre while watching the tour de France in a Bouchon in Lyon..We were so close...
This is the waiter who was always on deck.
This couple watched as our boat turned around and left.
The Charolais cows. We saw them everywhere and every time a tour guide would tell us these are the rare white french cows.
Spillway along the Saone at a lock. The grass is on an island that made up one side of the lock. There were three locks on the Saone. All three were around 10 foot drops or lifts depending on if we were going up or down the river.
mid day sitting in the airconditioned lounge, watching France float by. Did I mention it was hot and humid? I had my laptop set on top of the airconditioner.
Trevoux tower and a giant nursery. I sure would have loved to wander around in this one.
