It's a tradition to insert special responses to XYZZY, PLUGH, and PLOVER in interactive fiction games. Here is an alphabetical list of games with XYZZY/PLUGH/PLOVER responses. Enjoy!
Ad Verbum: XYZZY, PLUGH, different responses.
XYZZY: a long spiel from the Wizard, SPOILER AHEAD! Don't highlight if you don't want the puzzle to be ruined. resulting in that last lousy point. PLUGH: "A sonorous voice, straining to sound hollow, delivers a short lecture. "The word 'plugh' contains the word 'gulp' spelled backwards, and thus is an interesting candidate for inclusion in a letter-palindrome. However, no one knows how to use this word in a sentence, and everyone knows how to use the word 'plug,' which actually is the word 'gulp' spelled backwards, so the usefulness of the word 'plugh' is actually quite limited."
Delusions: XYZZY only.
(in VR) "It has been said that anything can happen in VR, but in this case "anything" turns out to be nothing at all."; (out of VR) "Obviously, nothing happens, as this is the real world."
Earth And Sky: XYZZY, PLUGH, different responses.
XYZZY: "Gesundheit!" PLUGH: "Try a glass of water. That helps sometimes."
Enlightenment: XYZZY, PLUGH, PLOVER, different responses.
XYZZY: "Not surprisingly, nothing happens. You mustn't have visited the right place." PLUGH: "You're sinking to new depths." PLOVER: "I think you mean "Quail"..."
Theatre: XYZZY, PLUGH, PLOVER, same response.
All: "The shadows shift subtly. Perhaps it would not be wise to draw attention to yourself by uttering those words."
