"There is no chance for the welfare of the world unless the condition of women is improved. It is not possible for a bird to fly on only one wing.....".

The Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda, the two embodiments of Sri Ramakrishna's shakti, in conjuction, gave rise to the Ramakrishna Movement which has had a great religious and social impact on the modern world. The Ramakrishna Sarada Movement, committed specially to the awakening of women power, is an integral part of a wider upheaval.

Swami Vivekananda wanted education to be man-making. Following his directions, Sister Nivedita brought about a unique re-orientation of women's education in India. Sister Nivedita's entire effort expanded from man-making to Nation-making. Apart from modernising the conventional education process, she stressed that education should rouse spiritual consciousness.
