| Here's what we can do for you.
San Jac Parasciences exists for one primary reason : to provide assistance to those who suspect they are having a paranormal experience of some kind. We will act discreetly and with total confidentiality. We will do our best to ensure that you and your family can live peacefully in your home without fear. And if we are unable to help you, we can put you in contact with reputable people and groups that may be able to. We will work with you to ensure that all that can be done will be done on your behalf, and we will conduct the investigation in an ethical and respectful manner at all times. If at any point you longer feel comfortable with our involvement, feel free to terminate the investigation. No matter what the outcome, we will provide you with a copy of all data collected regardless of what evidence may or may not have been found. If you wish, we can provide additional copies to any other group involved in an investigation on your behalf. However, YOU must request this, or it would be a violation of our confidentiality agreement. This can be a difficult time for you, and we understand you may have misgivings about asking a group of strangers into your home. We will happily provide a list of references so you can make inquiries into our conduct and activities. Of course, anyone can say these things, and many groups often do, without really meaning a word of it. That's why SJP operates under a set of legally binding agreements. HTML samples of the permission form and information release form can be found [HERE]. Please feel free to have them examined by your attorney. Here's what we cannot do. We cannot promise that we will find evidence of a haunting. We cannot promise that we can remove a ghost from your home. We cannot promise that we are able to identify or communicate with any resident spirit. None of these things can be guaranteed because, scientifically speaking, there is no way to prove that hauntings, ghosts, and other paranormal phenomena exist. It would be unethical to make such claims, and counter-productive to this effort. Here's what we will ask of you. Investigations function best when the research team and the client work together to discover what is happening. In order to get a complete estimate of the activities, SJP will need to do research into the history of the location through public records. This will always involve your written permission and will not be done without it. In many cases we will ask you to provide what records of the location's history that you have available. Start keeping a journal of the activities. Write down anything unusual that happens, no matter how minor it may be. Make sure you note the time and date, and include what you and other people in the home were doing at the time, and any unusual conditions. Human memory is fallible, so document any activities soon after they happen. It is a simple thing, but can provide vital information. Buyer Beware! Chris Tanner, an investigator in the Central Ohio Paranormal Society, has written an excellent article discussing the realities of many paranormal groups and what potential clients should be watchful for. We highly advise anyone who is considering bringing a group into your home to read this carefully and keep it in mind before making a decision.
