| San Jac Parasciences conducts research (primarily) in the greater San Jacinto River Valley area of southeast Texas. This covers an area from Galvestson to Lufkin, and from Beaumont to Bryan/College Station. Our Mission Statement The members of San Jac Parasciences have been operating since 2002 and have conducted research and investigations all over southeast Texas. We reorganized under the SJP name in August of 2007. We currently have four full-time members, two new trainees, and several associate members. We combine a wide range of college education, technical skills, and vocational training into a very flexible "Body of Experience" that can be brought to bear on any type of investigation. Although we tend to focus on the phenomena commonly called "hauntings," we also conduct research into cryptobiology, metaphysics, parapsychology, and much more. A majority of groups are founded with goal of discovering evidence that the paranormal exists or does not exist. For SJP, the scientific debate is of secondary concern. Our first priority is to ensure that our clients can carry on their normal lives with peace-of-mind. Beyond that, everything else is merely a bonus. But individually, our motives vary widely. While some would see this as a source of conflict, we have learned to draw strength from it, and the varied points of view often reveal details that others have missed. SJP also prides itself in being one of the few groups that is willing conduct an in-depth outdoors investigation. Many groups shy away from research under these conditions because of the difficulties involved. But SJP is made of people who have lived most of their lives in rural areas, and we are very accustomed to the trials and tribulations of nature. Every member of SJP is a volunteer. There are no paid positions. Each of us dedicates time and resources from our personal lives with no expectations of payment or compensation. Knowing that some family can sleep well at night because of our efforts is payment enough. Okay, it's not all so altruistic as that. We also do this because we enjoy it. It's very exicting when we realize we caught evidence of something unexplainable. It doesn't happen all that often but, when it does, it makes all the hours of effort worthwhile.
