| *Chapter 9* The next day Brian came to practice with me. I showed him around the place and introduced him to everyone. I think Shannon felt a bit out of place, but it was only one day. We had our regular 4-hour practice and then me and Brian went out to lunch. "So all the people at OVW seem really nice. I'm glad you're so happy there." Brian said. "I actually talked to Jim Cornette for a while and he was talking about how much you've improved. He said he expects the WWE to be calling for you soon." |
| "Well that's sweet, but he says that about a lot of the guys. And I actually don't think I'm ready for the WWE yet." I said |
| "Really?! You seem ready..." |
| "It's just the publicity. I don't know if I can handle it." |
| "Why, because everyone's gonna love you?" |
| "Yeah, it'll be weird!" We laughed, just as my cell phone rang. "Oh, I should get that.... Hello?" |
| "Hi Jessica, this is Shane." I was surprised to hear his voice... but then again, I always was! |
| "Hey Shane! How's it going?" |
| "It's good... really good. Kinda like your match last night against Victoria! That was brilliant, and Vince loved it!" |
| "Vince... McMahon!?!" I asked shockingly. |
| Shane laughed. "Yeah Vince loved your moves, and your character, and just the match as a whole. We want to have a meeting with you. It would be me, Vince, Stephanie, JR, Bruce Prichard, and Jim Cornette. Do you think you can come in tomorrow around 5:30?" |
| "Yeah! I mean... of course! I'll be there!" |
| "Great! I'll call Jim and let him know, and then I'll see you tomorrow. We have flight arrangements already made, just give them your name at the airport." |
| "OK! Thanks Shane!" |
| "You're welcome! Bye." |
| "Bye!" I hung up the phone and immediately screamed! "Brian, I have an interview tomorrow with Vince McMahon!" |
| "Ohmygod that's fantastic!!" He threw his arms around me. I started crying. Everything was happening now. The WWE. The final step. It was such an amazing moment - another one I shared with Brian. |
| After the initial shock subsided, Brian and I wandered the streets of Louisville. Granted, there wasn't much to see, but we just loved the time together. The day was almost over, because I had dinner plans with Shannon. Me and Brian said our goodbyes. He was heading back to Minneapolis later that night, so it was a tough farewell. Then I had to go find Shannon and tell him about the phone call. |
| I walked into the apartment building and headed for Shannon's room. I knocked and he answered all dressed and ready to go. He kissed me and said, "You ready?" |
| I said, "Yup, and I've got great news for you!" |
| "Oh really? What's that?" |
| "I can't tell you until dinner." I smirked at him. |
| "Well then, let's go!" We walked out the door and Shannon escorted me to a beautiful limo. |
| "Oh hun! What's this for?!" |
| "It's just we haven't seen much of each other the last couple of days, so I wanted to do something special for you." |
| "Ohhh." I smiled. "How sweet!" We got in the limo and went to a really nice restaurant. We had a delicious dinner, and then I decided to tell Shannon about the call. |
| "So do you wanna hear my good news now?" I asked. "Yeah! It sounds big." Shannon said. "Well today, when I was out to lunch with Brian, I got a phone cal..." "From who??" "From Shane McMahon!" "No way! Well, what did he say?!" "Well, I have a meeting with him and Vince, and Stephanie, and JR, and everyone else!" "Holy shit Jess! Congratulations!" He got up and wrapped his arms around me and then gave me a kiss. "Oh and there's more... I can take one person along for moral support." "Oooh, who are ya gonna take?" He said with a mischievous grin and a pleading look in his eyes. "Well I was thinking maybe Victoria... or Sharmell... or my pet goldfish..." Shannon's face dropped. "No, you of course!" I smiled. "Really!? Awww, I love you... But... do you think Jim will let me go?" "Well we don't have an official practice tomorrow, and he's actually going too, so I'm sure he won't mind!" "Awesome! When do we leave babe?" "2 o clock!" |
