| *Chapter 10* The next day, after our flight, we arrived in Stamford at about 4:00. The meeting wasn't until 5:30 so me and Shannon got a quick bite to eat. I wasn't really hungry anyways because I was too jittery about the meeting. I had never even met Vince McMahon before, so I was pretty much a nervous wreck. Shannon tried to calm me down, even though the time seemed to fly by. Before I knew it we were on our way to WWE Headquarters, and I was surprisingly more calm then before. I think it shocked Shannon a little bit, but I wasn't going to do anything to mess up my chance. We arrived and were led to the lobby outside of Vince McMahon's office. We waited a few minutes before Trish Stratus walked out. My mouth must have hit the floor, because she is my favorite diva of all time. I couldn't believe she was standing right in front of me! She must have noticed my excitement, and she began walking over to me. "Hey! Are you new here?" she asked me. "Ummm... yeah, well... no, not exactly... I have a meeting with Vince about that, but I hope to be able to walk out of that room and be able to say I work here." I stammered across that one. Trish smiled. "I remember my first meeting with Vince, a little scary. But just don't let yourself get intimidated by him." "Oh I won't! I love Vince! I think he's the smartest business man alive!" "Yeah, that he is. So, where are you working right now?" "Actually I'm at OVW." "Ohh! You're not..... are you..... Jessica?" "Yeah! How did you..." "Shane keeps talking about you! He's been working on getting an interview for you. Damn, you must be one hell of a wrestler to impress Shane like that!" I was flattered! Just then the secretary said, "Miss Joramo, they're ready to see you." I stood up and Trish said, "Good luck in there!... Not that you really need any!" I smiled and thanked her. Then I took a deep breath and walked towards Vince's office. This was it, everything I had ever dreamed of was just beyond that door. |
