*Chapter 14* Vince knocked on the door and Jeff answered. He was reading fanmail which I thought was ungodly adorable. He and Vince said hello and then we sat on his couch. "Jeff, this is the girl I've been telling you about. I think you and her are going to be awesome together. I'm just doing my part in introducing you, but hopefully next week we'll debut you together if everything goes well. But as you know, I'm a busy man, and I've got a lot to do. So, as the introductions go, Jeff this is Jessica, Jessica this is Jeff. Jeff I'll stop by later to talk about tonight's show." "OK sounds good Vince. I'll talk to you later." Vince headed out the door, leaving me and Jeff all alone. Me and Jeff talked for a while, just got to know each other. We talked a lot about music because we had the same taste. We of course talked about wrestling, and I loved the way he listened when I talked. Like he actually cared about all I had been through to get to where I was. And I'm sure he was actually interested to some point, but it was still a hard thing to get used to. It was starting to get close to show time, it was about 5 o clock - I hadn't realized how long me and Jeff had been talking. I told him how I had promised Trish that I would stop by. Jeffsaid that was cool, but made sure that I would be back before the show started. He said he needed my help for something. So, I promised to be back by 7, and headed out for Trish's locker room. I was walking down the hallway, thinking about the fact that I had just spent over 2 hours with Jeff Hardy, not paying much attention to where I was going. Suddenly, I bumped into someone. "Oh sorry, I wasn't watching...." I looked up. "holy shi....."
"That's awesome. What's your name sweetie?" he asked. "Oh, it's Jessica. Actually, I work here now, so I guess we'll be seeing a lot of each other." "Cool, I hope we do. But actually, I have a lot of work to do, so I'll see ya around?" "Yeah, ok that's cool. See ya later." I flashed him a smile and then continued for Trish's locker room. When I finally found the door which had the nameplate `Trish Stratus', I knocked and was greeted with a "come in". I walked in and said, "Hey Trish." "Oh hey Jessica. Just give me a second to finish this email, have a seat." I sat on the couch, and noticed a notebook on the table. The cover was actually a replica of Trish's first magazine cover, and as I started flipping through it I noticed it was all of Trish'smagazine covers and articles. Then I heard Trish say goodbye, and she walked over and sat on the couch. "How do you like that collection?" Trish asked and smiled. "It's amazing! I hadn't realized you'd been on so many covers." I said. "Yeah it's pretty unbelievable. I carry that around with me every where I go. It's like a reminder of why I do what I do. Ya know, for those days when you feel like you just want to quit and go home. I actually had made one of those with fan letters and gifts and everything from the fans, but it got too big. So now a room at my house is dedicated to that." "That's awesome! I only have a handful of fan letters, which I keep with me. They're nice to read every now and then." "It's great. Are you excited for the fame?" "I'm a little scared actually. I'm not sure what it's gonna be like, and I hate not knowing what lies ahead." "Well it's weird at first, but then it's great. Just take it in as it comes. If you ever want any advice you can always come to me too." "Awww thanks." I smiled. "No problem! It can be tough at times. You need some good friends in this business who know what it's like, and go through the same things as you. And I think we'll be really good friends." "Ooooh! I hope so!" I was so surprised at how sweet Trish was! She gave me a hug, and we kept talking. We got along so well, but I kind of knew we would. I looked at the clock and realized it was almost 7. I told Trish I had promised Jeff I'd be back, so I had to go. I walked into Jeff's locker room right before 7, and he said, "Oh good, I was hoping you wouldn't be late. I need your help with something if you don't mind." "Not at all, what do ya need Jeff?" I asked. "You know how I paint myself every week, well I was wondering if you could do it for me?" "Whoa! Sure, but uh, I'm not a very good artist really! I don't think you'd want me to do it!" "Oh no, I'm sure you're great! Come on, I've got paint over here." He gave me a pleading look. "OK... I can't say no to you Jeff!" We went over to the cans of paint, and it was easier than I thought. Jeff seemed to like it so I was happy. Finally showtime came around. I got to watch the whole show backstage live with Vince, and it was awesome! He'd comment on things I'd never thought about like the fans reaction, the way the superstars cut promos, and stuff with the wrestling moves. It was a great opportunity to see what Vince likes! It was so fun to watch Jeff, because I was thinking about the fact that next week I'd be out there with him. After Raw was over, I went out with all the guys for dinner, and then headed back to the hotel where I shared a room with Jeff. I knew the weeks to come were going to be absolutely amazing.
"Whoa, whoa, it's ok." I found myself looking up into the eyes of a 7-foot tall Kane.
"Uh.. Kane... I mean Glenn... umm, it's just I've been a really big fan of yours for a long time. You're just about the last person I was expecting to run into. This is a huge honor." I really couldn't believe I was talking to Kane. I have admired him for so long.
