Description and Background:
Julian does not know who his mother was and has never thought it appropriate to ask his father. Nor has he ever given very much thought to her. What matters above all else is that his father is the Magister Erenorius of House Bonisagus and Consul of the Ancient and Honourable Covenant of Aldamar and that Julian is his son and pupil. It was at Aldamar that he was born and brought up, with servants to cater to his every need and obey his every command, and when the time was right his father took it upon himself to train Julian as a magus. Aldamar has a long and illustrious connection with the Line of Trianoma - it was founded directly after she negotiated the entry of House Ex Miscellenea into the Order - and while Julian's father saw to it that his son were thoroughly trained in the magic arts his true intention was for Julian to continue Trianoma's work. That is precisely what he now intends to do. If there is one thing that troubles him, it is a disquieting presence that he has sometimes felt at Aldamar, especially at night and in some of the darker and more secret places that Julian probably had no business being in. He fears that something unseen and unpleasant has taken an interest in him, and he can only hope that it is nothing more dangerous than one of the many ghosts that the covenfolk constantly gossip about.
Julian considers himself superior to everyone except his father, some of the Arch-Magi, the Prima of House Bonisagus and the Founders, but feels that it does not do to have a haughty attitude. Lesser men are imperious; Julian can afford to be agreeable and gracious and to let others speak to him as they will until he has proven his superiority to them. That is the theory, anyway - he would like to do what he can for the Order, but if other magi are content to leave Julian alone with all of the home comforts that he has become accustomed to then he has little argument with them.
