Description and Background:
Annis is a witch, like her mother and her mother's mother before her. She is also unusual among Hermetic magi in the sense that it was also her mother who taught her magic, even as she masqueraded as a pious freewoman and wife of a village craftsman. Living with her family as she did, Annis knows little of other magi or their covenants, but she has been introduced to the Witches' Coven of which her mother is a member. It is ultimately her aim to learn enough about the Arts so that one day she may tutor a daughter of her own, but she knows that these are troubled times for wizards; she realises that she may have to learn more about the ways of magi and join one of their covenants just to survive.
Annis is proud, passionate and unpredictable. She tends to be guided by instinct, often acting first and asking questions later, and she is quick to anger but slow to make friends. Annis expects others to trust her, although her own trust is not easily won; however, once given it is binding and unconditional.
