| MOON PHASES The different phases of the moon that affects magicks and rituals. The new moon is a good time for dark magicks or banishings as the Goddess has yet to be reborn. While the waxing moon is an opportune time to to rites of growth and change and healing. The full moon is time for the Esbat, when the Mother Aspect of the Goddess is at her peak for all dealings of a maternal or nuturing need. The final stage of waning, is the crone aspect of the goddess, it is a good time for reparations and endings. |
| MAGICK CIRCLE A protective cirlce that is cast around the ritual area to keep negative influences, energies, and enitties from enterign and harming the ritual attendees. Mistakenly the magickal circle is often viewed as only being used by darker path walkers, when it has its place is every ritual. |

| MAIDEN, THE The young personification of the Goddess. She is beauty, newness, youth, virility, and passion. |
| MANTRA An object that features repeated sequences that is mediated upon that aids the user in achieving a specific need. i.e. peace of mind, illness. It can either be spoken as a kanthika or it can be a thought-form as ajapa. |
| MOONRAKER'S RAKE A long pole that is used in pond and moon mgick. It is used to manuever the small cauldron across the surface of the pond. |
| MOTHER, THE The mother personification of the Goddess. She is nuture, creativity, fertility, beginnings, zeniths, pregnancy, and life. |
| MEDITATION A deep tracelike state that has been used by spiritual seekers and the enlightened for eons. The goal of meditation is to silence the mind and its everyday activity such as needs, desires, thoughts, etc. |
| NECROMANCY A magickal tradition in which a caster can summon life energy to re-enter a corpse and animate the body. This path also includes using corpses or pats of corpses in magickal workings. Necromancers usually possess the ability to work with ghosts. |
| OATH The loyal promise of secrecy that initaites take regarding the Craft's secrets and knowledge. |

| PANTHEISM A concept in which the gods are present in everything. Is is based on the ideas of animism. |
| PATHWORKING A guided meditation that is useful in introspective workings. It is usually led by someone who sepaks and created some of the imagery to aid the worker in mentally creating the world that they must "work" in. |
| PATH The spiritual journey a soul is given. Also an indicator of religious beliefs or preferences i.e. Wiccan path, Egyptian path. |
| PANTHENON A system of gods and goddesses that a particular culture possesses. |
| PENTACLE The symbol for earth that is usally constructed out of metal, wood, or ceramic. It is a five-pointed star whose symbolism is that of a perfect human: a head, two arms, and two legs. It is encircled by the circle of life: birth, life, death, and rebirth. |
| PAST LIFE THERAPY (PLR) The act of learning from past lives once a person has regressed and understands them. It is an excellent method of emotional and spiritual cleansing and healing. |
| PARADOX A reaction of creating too great of a magickal field or piercing the "veils" between worlds. Paradox can range from mental effects to physical ills, everything from seeing grand hallucinations to pains or fatigue. Paradox is the mind's way of taking a time-out as magickal workings often place the brain in severly stressful situations. Also known as magickal shock. |
| PAST LIFE REGRESSION The act of entering a deep relaxation state and going backwards to examine your lives that you have lived in the past. This is a dangerous technique and should only be performed by experienced spiritual workers. |
